I need verification from the experts, please!

True or False....if you take your GAD tickets to guest services after entering the park and want to apply it towards an AP upgrade, will they take off $84.14 (adult ticket) and $72.42 (child ticket) towards the AP ticket price?

I've read through the boards and this is what I read to be true. I called ticketing to verify this and "Geno" told me his supervisor said that it was true. I asked if he could put me through to Guest Services at any of the parks to verify just one more time and he pretty much said since his supervisor said it was OK, it is....

I'm trying to set up budgets for upcoming trips and this may just be the "push" I needed to get my husband on board for a few trips in the next year! And I don't want to be misunderstood and expect it to happen when it may not.

Has anyone done this yet? Any concrete verifications?

Thank you!

The value of a GAD ticket, once used, is $79/$68 plus tax. It may be upgrraded to any ticket or option you are entitled to purchase. If you go to the locked sticky Everything About WDW Tickets in this Forum, especially Post #18, you can get all ticket prices. An easy way to get to the sticky is by clicking on the link in my signature. Look at what you are going to purchase, subtract the $79 (or $68 for Ages 3-9) and add 6.5% sales tax to the difference. That is what you will pay.
