another first timer question about marathon weekends!

These may be silly questions, but I am completely clueless as to how these marathon weekends work! I appreciate any help I can get!!

-Do runners participating in the marathon weekends just do the events and not do parks and rides and that sort of thing?

-Does anyone get MYW packages for a regular trip and just work the weekend events into the itinerary?

Does participating in the event give you entry into the park(s) or does Disney kick you out once your race is over unless you have tickets?

I'm trying to figure out how to plan and how to budget for the trip!

CampbellScot Well, I'm sure everyone is different, but as for me--no way I'm coming to Disney and not doing parks and rides! I think that most people would say that before the races, try to take it easy on the amount of walking and minimize the fatigue factor. Afterwards, get out there and enjoy (with your medal around your neck!)

The races don't finish inside a park, so in order to get in, you need a ticket. I don't do packages--last year I had an annual pass, and this year will be using up some tickets from previous visits.

For Jauary, I will plan on going to a park evry day I'm there, and fit in the events around that--it'll just be at an easier pace.

My husband and I can't imagine being at Disney and NOT going to parks either. That would just be against the nature of the universe!!
