Another Eyebrow Waxing Question

I'm finally going for an eyebrow wax today! I can't face those tweezers anymore (and I do a bad job anyway).

When you first go in for an eyebrow wax, do they just do it a certain way, or do they ask you how you want them? Personally, I have NO idea how they should be, so I think I'd leave it up to the stylist. What do you "wax veterans" do?

I gave up tweezing them myself about 10 years ago other than to do a little stray hair maintenance in between waxings. I would have eyebrows like Ed Asner if I don't go at least once a month! I just let them do it and I have never had a problem.

Now if I could just work up the courage to go in for a bikini wax....

Yeah, me too. But not one of those Brazilian bikini waxes, that's just a little too personal for me.

The first time I went I just asked them to "clean them up" first. Just give them a basic shape. Then they should show them to you in a mirror and you can decide if you want more taken off some where. That way they don't take off a big chunck and it is more than you want ! LOL!

I've been too chicken to get the bikini wax as well. I really want to do it this summer. I also want to get my eyebrows done too. I went to a place near me that does all that and I may try it, if I have the courage!

Bikini waxes are so worth it! It is definatly worth trying it out.

I had mine waxed today on my lunch break. I was nervous the first time and I let the stylist pick the shape (I trust her with my life). She was pretty conservative the first time and took a little more off the second. It looks great! It is amazing how much it lightens up your face. But LOL my husband didn't even notice. That's a man for you.

Hey, my brows look WAY better now! I didn't find it to be painful, it goes so fast. Definitely worth the money to have someone "rip" them off.

WHen you get your eyebrows waxed it really depends on the stylist. When I first started to go it was pretty much a clean up, but the gifl who does them now is an artist! LOL
She even uses styling scissors and I love how they look every time. Although there was that one time I think she had a bit too much of the egg nog and had to fix the uneven part. In fact, I'm going tomorrow morning, hopefully there will be no egg nog!

By the way, how much should I tip her for a Christmas tip. It costs $10 and I usually tip her $3-4.

You guys are braver than me! I got my eyebrows waxed about five times - it hurt so much (I have very heavy eyebrows), but everyone kept saying that if you kept doing it, you would get used to it and it wouldn't hurt anymore. Well, I could never get used to it, I guess. I couldn't take the pain, so mine are just bushy now!! However, I must admit they did look really good each time I had them done.

I also let the stylist do the shaping and never had a problem.

I also do the lip waxing, but fortunately do not need the bikini wax!

Loved that "rip" them off quote ----- what we women do for the sake of looking good!
