Another extra cost for unvaccinated guests (12 years and older) on upcoming 5+ night cruises

Disney I think just really wants to avoid requiring vaccination in the US if at all possible.

Additionally I think Disney is being savvy "smart" in that by doing shorter cruises less chance of someone spread COVID19 on board and it being detected that way if someone was sick everyone is long gone.
I agree with you 100%. This does not change the fact that they are having to give up some very desirable/profitable routes with this business model. There is only so much time that they can cruise back and forth to Castaway before the novelty wears off.

Finally I think Disney also had the early data from Safe Passage. It could be possibly that a large enough % of people were going with the testing over vaccination proof that Disney finalized their plan to shift the route to one that 100% was assured not to require vaccination for cruises (since they likely have some agreement with Bahamas in place).
I disagree. I don' t think this is them wanting to avoid vaccines. I think this is them trying to thread a very narrow line between return to sailing, profitability, safety, and the law. If requiring vaccines (at least for ages that are eligible) was in line with that, I have no doubt they would do it. And if requiring vaccines becomes legal for all cruise lines (and not just NCL) at some point in the future, I can easily see them changing, especially if they start having any of the issues the other cruise lines have had.

Starting with short cruises is a way of avoid a lot of that mess. The future remains to be seen.

So from my understanding the 3 largest cruise lines all require vaccination with some exemptions possible even in Florida. Additionally from my understanding people have also stated a final legal ruling will take a long time to come down. So nothing is really changing from that side of things it seems.

Interesting as we approach possibly 4 ships operating out of the Caribbean if more cruises don't get cancelled.

So I just got the new email from DCL for my 8 night on the fantasy in October. The new requirement for testing at the end of 5+ night cruises is in there. Guess they added the new requirement for when the fantasy finally sails the normal route again. Doubt it will be in October though.
