It didn't take long for someone else to unload there points on Ebay. There is another 50 point listing that went up shortly after the BW auction ended. It is for 50 points at the Vero Beach. I don't think they will, or at least hope they don't don't get as much as the last guy. The minimum bid is $3400. Any takers? :sad2:

Based on the state of the Vero Beach DVC resale market, I would think the seller would be happy to get the minimum and have it sold quickly.

Of course, you never know what magic will happen when the bidding gets going!

Hmmm, minimum bid of $68 a point? Good luck to them.

Is Vero Beach not selling well? We have a small contract at Vero Beach, why would the points there be any different then anywhere else?

I think everyone is waiting fo the other shoe to drop on VB. There has been discussion about an assessment for the hurricane damages from last year. Coupled with the fact that VB has the highest maintenance fees, buyers have pretty much been staying away.

Click on the Current DVC Resales link above and there 25-30 postings for VB , 6 of which are "Just Reduced" and other than 2 50 point contracts, there is only one other "Sale Pending".

IMHO, once DVC announces the assesment amount, buyers will adjust their offers accordingly and you probably see more "Sale Pendings".

I REALLY need to sell our vero points, they have been up with three brokers since december and no bites, my price is way reasonable (maybe too much so) how would I sell it on ebay anyone have alink to the vero that just sold?

Honestly what prevented us from buying a resale at VB was the maintenance fees. Although the contracts are the most affordable resales on the market, the high maintenance fees over time will more than make up for that. This was also true when we talked about buying a VWL resale. The fees were also pretty high in comparison. Now I'm not saying that over time they all won't be high, but for now, we went with SSR. We hope to spend a couple of nights at Vero this summer, but we'll be using our SSR points.

Just go to ebay, type in Disney Vacation club, the click subheading of timeshares.

Just a question - why the frowny face? Is there something wrong with selling your points on Ebay?

As I understand it, the same guarantee that keeps DVD from having to pay maint fees on the points they own will also eliminate any special assessment for this type of issue. Dues could, and likely will, go up in the future but I don't think there will be a SA.

The bigger problem, which we saw vividly in South Florida after Hurricane Andrew in 1992 (and are still paying for) is not paying for the damage, but the subsequent horrendous increases in insurance costs. Because insurance is pooled to spread the risk, they raise everybody's rates. At our house in 1992, we had one window broken (we were outside the damage area), but our insurance tripled! My Dad's house was reduced to a pile of rubble (with he and my stepmother inside, but unhurt) and his insurance went up the same as ours.

VB has to have insurance, and insurance has to come out of dues.

I don't see why anyone would be upset with people selling their points on ebay???
I have a rock bottom price and am not out to gouge anyone. My medical bills this past year were huge, I just want to sell, pay off debts and go on a cruise, I am more than willing to take a loss just to get back the capital. Since we paid cash at the time and I need it now I don't see what is wrong with putting it on ebay. Maybe I am missing something?????????

I don't see that there's anything wrong selling them on Ebay. What's the problem, maybe I don't understand some "hidden" subversion or something?

I don't see anything wrong with selling via ebay, either and unless you are hoping to pick up VB points cheap, I don't see why anyone would begrduge the seller a good price.

The higher the price, the more we may get when/if we sell.

Best wishes -

The last few sales on EBAY went for really BIG prices and I think that if this trend continues, then resales will go up as well. I am guessing this is why there is a frowny face on this thread.

No one really begrudes anyone else making money, but if it raises the values of resales, it will impact those of us that might add on soon. On the other hand, it would help those of us that are selling. Its a Catch-22 I think.

The one sale went for like $120 a point (not Vero Beach) which is WAY over the price that you can currently purchase a resale.

You have to wonder if that sale ever really closed at such a high price, or if there was frivolous bidding going on. It borders on the ridiculous.

Someone on TUG posted that the closing price of $120 on that auction was withdrawn becauce the bidder was mistaken about the auction he was bidding on (or something like that).
