Today was snacking around day...we started sharing breakfast at the MK at the Main Street Bakery. For one CS credit we got a ham, egg and cheese croissant, a cinnamon roll and a strawberries and cream smoothie. I paid cash for an oj and a banana:

And finally, when we got back from the MK, we decided to hang out at the Kidani pool. DH got me one of the orange cream drinks (YUM!) and the tandoori chicken caesar salad:

The drink was wonderful - like a liquid creamsicle!
This morning we woke up at the crack of dawn and stumbled out into the sunshine to have breakfast at one of our favorites - Kona Cafe. DH and I have had breakfast here as a tradition every trip when DS does the Grand Floridian Pirate Cruise. This trip we skipped the cruise and brought him with to breakfast.
We were seated immediately and started with Lillikoi juice for DS, OJ for DH and a Cafe Mocha for me:

The cafe mocha was perfect!
DS decided on the Mickey pancakes and sausage:

I ordered my favorite - the blueberry pancakes (three large!) and sausage:

DH decided on his usual - the Big Kahuna. This has eggs (he got scrambled), macadamia nut pancakes, french toast, sausage, ham, bacon and breakfast potatoes. He loves this:

He enjoyed this as usual, but gave me his sausage which I couldn't eat. All in all, a fantastic breakfast tradition!

One of my all time favorites EVER ANYWHERE! A tiny bit of cake, tons of fresh whipped cream and fresh strawberries. I let DH have a little bit and then I enjoyed the rest myself. YUM~!!!!
I'm a Coke Zero fan tooI'm loving your live report!

Great reviews, I've got to go to Kona & get me a Big Kahuna platter. That Strawberry Shortcake from SS looks delicious too! I'm probably going to weigh 200 lbs after my Sept trip.
Enjoy your downtime.![]()
Great reviews!!!!! It's so neat that there is a Sweet Tomatoes near Disney now! Can't wait to read more!![]()
Looks like A LOT of good food and some good reviews too! I have to try that strawberry shortcake. It looks delicious. I can't wait for strawberry season to come around to make my own along with some homemade strawberry jelly!!!! We ate at WC last time in Feb 08 and enjoyed it also. DH and myself both got the same desserts as you two and also in a to go box. I thought both were very good and have been craving them since. We want to try Yachtsman on our next visit. Have you ever ate there? It'll be our 25th wedding anniversary trip w/o kids!!!!!This trip report is just making me wish it was Nov 29th already.
Enjoy the down time today but we'll be waiting for more pics!!!!
Thanks for posting the breakfast menu at Sunshine Seasons. I've been trying to find a breakfast spot in Epcot other than Akershus and you hit the mark! Now I'm off to update my itinerary!
Just found this review and am loving it!
We just inherited some BlueGreen points so I would love it if you post some photos of the resort.
We just love Yachtsman's and have toyed with going to Shula's. Which do you prefer?
Thanks!
Whew...all caught up now. Sorry to be so late ;-)
Loving your reviews! Thanks for taking the time to post!!
Great reviews!!! I'm really enjoying reading through your dining journey and looking through all the pics....makes me hungry!!
BTW, not dining related, I know, but how was the Behind the seeds tour??
great reviews!
Did you pre-order the celebration bag? I was looking on the Disney site and it said they are available at most buffet and character meals and pre-ordering isn't necessary. I was wondering if that meant you could ask for one when you get there? I would like to get m daughter one and my preference is to have it waiting at the table when we get to our Chef Mickey's breakfast.
EDIT: I saw that you answered the same question in an earlier post.![]()
Thanks for sharing your wonderful trip...and meals with us!![]()
Hi Jen, been away from the DIS for a couple of days and just got caught up. Firstly, it is NOT a good idea to read food reviews first thing int he morning after a day spent drinking - I am so hungry this morning I could eat a horse - or several cinnamon rolls at least. Shula's sounds like a good deal, given that your valet parking and child care is included. How did the steak compare to Yachtsman because I remember you loved it there on a previous trip? Glad to hear you had a little drink by the pool at Kidani. I am so looking forward to staying there.
So am I the only idiot who looked at the picture of the croissant right after the picture of the banana and thought that you stuffed the banana in the croissant for a joke?I only thought it for half a second, I promise!
I love it! That does sound like something I'd do...
Yum - creamsicles were always my favorite thing when the ice cream truck came when I was a kid. Something tells me this beverage would be a little different.
Just a tiny bit...
Mmmm - I love breakfast at Kona, and that mocha looks wonderful.
I'm really picky about mine and it was absolutely fantastic!
How cute!
Just look at all those beautiful blueberries! Wow!
Hubby and I once got a Big Kahuna to share, along with an extra side of fresh fruit, and it was really plenty for the 2 of us. That thing is huge!
It totally would be enough to share...if DH was willing...
Why oh why didn't I get one of these? I'm kicking myself now!
