Ok - yet another stroller question- I have a 14mth old and 3year old that we are bringing to London...we are going to bring our sit and stroll car seat (the one that converts to a stroller) and also our graco car seat bucket that our DD still fits in amazingly as we will have access to a car for part of our trip. But I was wondering around London and Paris should I bring a maclaren twin traveller for going about town? We have a sit and stand deluxe that we usually bring to disney but I don't want DS to get out easily from the stroller when we are near all those buses etc plus it doesn't exactly steer really easily and it is pretty big. Having said that though it is nice that we can click the smaller graco car seat into it. Or should I go get a Bob double stroller or other jogging stroller??? I know that it would probably work better on all the uneven streets but I'm pretty freaked out about it being stolen or how hard it would be on the tube and getting it onto a bus because of it's size. Or should I get the jeep double umbrella that I guess is like a cheaper version of the maclaren and slightly lighter and then I won't worry about it being broken by the travel or being stolen??? Or should I forget the double stroller and just carry baby in a sling and push the older child in the sit and stroll??? It's going to be hot and I just didn't think I'd enjoy carrying the baby all day whilst trying to shop for some good strong british tea....and sorry everyone if you are sick of all this stroller ramble...I needed somewhere to air my thoughts....

that your best option is the sling and the single stroller ... sorry! Or a stroller that sits the kids front to back instead of side by side.

We lived in England for 3 years and the only double strollers we ever saw were the ones pushed by Americans! and they all seemed to have trouble with them. A lot of the buildings over there have very small doorways and most tube stations require a couple of sets of escalators to get to and you can count on encountering some that aren't working so plan on climbing a lot of stairs. Remember, no American With Disabilities Act over there! While most places seem to have caught up with the times most "tourist" attractions are a few hundred years old and the English Heritage doesn't really like to make changes to historical buildings. Also, sidewalks and passage ways can be very narrow.

Enjoy your trip! We loved living over there and all the traveling we got to do -- I am so jealous!

Hope this helps -Jennie

Thanks so much for replying. I kinda remember seeing no strollers around when I stayed there (this was when I was single and didn't have kids so I didn't pay attention to strollers then!) Oh well...looks like I'll be getting a work out with the sling/baby carrier.
