Another Disney Store validation....

I spoke to a very nice CM at the Disney store in the Poughkeepsie Galleria mall today. She confirmed that the store is on the list of stores to be closed, though she said that the list is tentative, so it isn't 100% certain that the store will go. She also said that the only nearby stores that are supposed to stay open are the Danbury CT store, the Woodbury Commons store, and the store in the Pallisaides Mall. All three of them are a much longer drive for me, so I'm kind of hoping that the Poughkeepsie store stays open. She didn't have any idea when the closings might take place.

Anyone that goes to the Disney Store in the South Hills Village Mall....IT'S STAYING OPEN :cool1:

Just was there today and talked to the manager, she said they sure they were closing and they just found out today that they will be the only store kept in the Pittsburgh area :yay: :woohoo:

I must have been there around the same time as you today! I can't believe that they would close this location as it is always busy. I really do hope it stays open. Where else would I get my Disney fix (and dollars) :confused3

Greece Ridge Center Greece Ny closing....markdowns now and bigger on Monday......so sad

That is too funny! It was around 4pm, were you there then? Do you live in the South Hills? We should do a Disney Store meet sometime

I was so sad when they first told me they thought they were closing. Those girls are so nice and really need their jobs. I love going there and visiting and of course buying too :upsidedow

Holyoke, Massachusetts is closing!!! Signs started going up today. I heard that Westfarms, CT is staying open.

Okay, this thread seems to be revived....

Does anyone know if the "temporary" lists we were all looking at have been updated or confirmed anywhere?

Also, I'm intrigued that one of you girls posted that signs have gone up and markdowns have started.

I guess the final decisions have been made. I'm going to call the Mall of Georgia and Discover Mills stores tomorrow to see what they are doing.

Anyone on here from Georgia asked either store yet?

This makes no sense whatsoever to close all three stores in Indianapolis (State's capital city) and keep Merrillville (which could be served by the Chicago area stores) and Ft. Wayne open. Also, the employees at Circle Center seem to think they will be Cast Members very soon. Haven't been to Castleton recently so I don't have any updates from there and have never been to Greenwood. Castleton was the first Disney store to open in Indianapolis (and was on one of the second or third tier openings before the store proliferation began). Circle Center was a flagship store with a gallery nook in the "good old days". At the moment, it's still a pretty good sized store unlike poor Castleton that got "downsized" in location a few years ago.

I totally agree. I used to work at Greenwood, and was talking to one of my friends who is a manager there. We were discussing me wanting to come back 1 or 2 days a week, and she said she couldn't do anything until after the May 1 switchover. She did not give any sort of indication that it might be closing. Also, I was there Thursday, and there were no sort of signs up about the switch, and all the merchandise was still the same.
I really hope it stays open. I loved working there- the only reason I left before was because I was trying to plan my wedding while working 2 jobs- something had to give, and it was the part-time job. :( I would love to go back there!

I hate to break your heart, but I know I saw Discover Mills on the closing list. I can't remember about Mall of Georgia.

I don't know if the official lists are posted anywhere on the internet. The list I've seen is one that was sent to all the stores yesterday.

It's true, signs are starting to go up. Liquidations will begin on Monday morning. I'm not looking forward to the next 6-7 weeks, believe me. :sad2:

 I saw that Gwinnett Place is closing but I never saw Discover Mills or Mall of Georgia on a "list". :sad1:

Does anyone know about The one @ Arbor Place Mall in Douglasville (GA)?

I love that store and the CM's.

At this point, everyone can probably just contact their individual stores directly and ask. As far as I know, they have all been informed if they are one of the stores closing in the first wave. That will take all the guesswork out of the various lists you've seen posted.

Yeah, not sure about the DM store either. They JUST opened, and I mean JUST opened. Like a few months ago.

The CM there said (2 weeks ago) she was told they weren't closing, and she was looking forward to being a Cast Member again.

That would really kill DM for me. No need going over there if TDS closes. I'm going to try and call the stores around me today to see what they know.

You guys mentioned a list the stores received a few days ago. Has anyone seen this list?

That list was very preliminary - it was part of the initial bankruptcy filing. While some of it may still be accurate, there have been numerous changes to it. Best thing to do is give the stores in your area a call and ask.

Well...I don't know if this is true or not because I haven't made any calls yet, but a friend of mine just e-mailed and said she talked to the CMs at the stores and the Gwinnett Store and the Foley stores are the only ones closing in our area.

Keep your fingers crossed!

I just called and The Disney Store is closing in the Tippecanoe Mall here in Lafayette, IN....they didn't have a date that they were closing but she said they were definetly closing. :guilty:

Now I'm wondering if the preliminary list was correct and the only Disney Store left in Indiana will be in Hobart.....

DANG

I was in the Maine Mall, South Portland, Maine on 5/2 and an employee told me this store was closing. Bummer.:sad1:

I just called Castleton Square in Indy and was told they would NOT be closing, though they are on the list to close. She said the only one closing(in Indy??) is the one at Circle Centre. Man almighty, I hope she knows what she's talking about!! I'm very excited....:dance3:
