Another Disney Store validation....

Does anyone who lives in Tennessee know of any other Disney Stores beside this one: TN-Cool Springs Galleria. This store is on the list to close, but it is the only Disney Store that I know of in Tennessee.

I agree also from New Orleans(actually Metairie) but close enough I wish they would get more adult stuff too. Now I do have a 3 yr old but it is even hard to find stuff for him. That is why I do most of my disney shopping online. Can't wait to check out the new outlet in Gulfport hopefully I'll get there this month.
Gulfport native here. I love our disney outlet, it is very nice and seems to have some adult clothing. Not sure if it is as nice as when Disney owned the stores, since we never had one here. My DD 22 mnths and I make a trip to the Disney store here at least once a week. She loves to just go in and look at the characters and watch whatever promos they are playing on the tv's located inside. Surely ours won't be closing since it just opened?

Sorry, I have read through and tried to find the document with the list. I cannot find my Concord, NC store. Is it ok? Surely it is.........it just opened!!!

Here's the BIG QUESTION: Are those stores that are closing having a huge "going out of business" sale? Imagine the shopping opportunities... :goodvibes

Our local store closed about 3 weeks ago and had a huge sale... at least 50% off everything... everything... I bought all kinds of different stuff for the kids... flip-flops, sunglasses, shirts, pj's.... with the 50% and then a 15% coupon it was hard to stop!... :cool1: Also got some things for the house - vase (orig. $49, I paid $8) salt/pepper... serving tray, fun stuff like that...:thumbsup2

Now, this was before the news really came out about selling back to Disney. The store manager at the time said she had no idea why the store was closing and kind of blamed it on the mall - which has been raising rents. In hind-sight, it probably was related to the sale...

Honestly though... I'd much rather have the store in my town... the bargain day of shopping was fun, but my kids and I will really miss that store...! :sad1:

Thank you -- it's nice to know that someone has thought of the thousands of people who will be losing their jobs shortly
As someone who works in one of the possibly closing stores, I have to say, it's a little upsetting to see that all anyone cares about is their own shopping desires. This event is so much bigger than that. There are peoples' lives at stake here. .

Totally agree, there are some wonderful people who I have met at our store..

GREAT story.. the last time I was there with DH... we were talking to our favorite CM saying how sad we were that we wouldn't see her. She mentioned that Childrens Place was trying to find jobs for people... but she wasn't going to stay in retail...

WELL.. DH hired her!!! :flower3: She started this week at his company.

How do you know what stores are closing?

Go to page 4 of this thread. This is a list of the stores closing, plus there is a link that takes you to the legal document of this takeover. It has both the keep and sell list of stores too. Acquired means Disney is taking them back. Remaining stores are the stores Disney is not taking back, which means HOOPs will close them.

Looks like my store in NH is going, but I just called and the CM who answered the phone said they aren't closing. Have they been told to say this or is there hope? I haven't been there in a while, so I don't know if they are having a sale.

What a wonderful story!!!! I'm very saddened for all of the TDS CMs that will be out of a job.

This is EXACTLY what I keep getting....and I see no choice for April 3rd...only the first and the seventh.

Ditto.

And I'd REALLY like to know if the Westfarms Mall store (Farmington) in CT is staying open.

I suspect it is..but would like to know for sure.

first you need to go here

http://chapter11.epiqsystems.com/

the go clients, the all active cases

under H click on Hoop retail stores

this will bring you to their page.

click dockets on the top of the page...

on this page there will be a place that says docket search. search for #91

when you get to the next page there will be a small box and to the right there is the word image.. click on that and itll give you 6 options the first is exhibit b part 3. if you download this one itll tell our all the stores supposedly closing... ( its the last few pages

the next exhibit B part 1 is the ones they are keeping

Thanks, that did it for me!!

Looks like Westfarms is staying open!

I tried it, step by step, as tigger1 posted. I found the link, and my computer downloaded a file. However, I cannot get it to open so I cannot read the list.

Is the Concord, NC store staying? It is brand new! I love it!

The store at Concord Mills in Concord, NC is listed as staying. :thumbsup2

Disney has never been very forthcoming with information for it's employees. Plus there are always the ones in denial. When my husband worked for the company, they were not allowed to tell anyone that they were being sold to TCP.

Ok, that is like every Disney Store in our state! :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

Seriously, I live in Indiana and the ones listed there are the only ones I even know of. :scared: And our store has a "now hiring" sign in the window! So I thought we were going to be in the clear.

Is it because all our malls are Simon malls???

I'm going to get hit hard by this one too, although I have been to the store in the Southlake Mall up in Hobart, I don't like it though as it's the "new" Disney Store and not like ours here in Lafayette.

Going to have to create a car pool up to Hobart every few months from Lafayette to shop at The Disney Store!! :headache:

Hey mickeymousemom,
Thanks for the news....even though it's bad!
Go Irish!! :thumbsup2

I'm glad to hear that the MOA store is one they plan to keep open, and that those who work there will be able to keep their jobs. I hope Disney puts some money into the store. The original Disney store at the Mall of America was very nice, but the one they have now just looks terrible.

I agree. It also seems smaller than the original one was to me, and I would love to see a bigger store there...after all, the MOA draws in tourists from all over the world..it seems like it would be to Disney's advantage to really make a nice store there.

closing all the stores in KS, MO....and many other states? I wonder if they plan to open new ones; that is, that they're doing this just to get out of leases?

The craziest thing in the one here in CO. It has been closed since I moved here last summer. They built a brand new building to house just it...and it was supposed to have opened this month.

In searching, I see that there USED to be 7 Disney stores in Colorado. They closed 6. Why would they put the capital into building a new one that would only be open a month???
