SO DS17 who graduates next yr has always wanted to become a disney imaginer, he plans on doing the disney career program than switch to the college program and hopes to become a imagineer.

My questions are:

Do you get to chose what type of Imagineer you want to eat with?

Can it be a one on one meal or is there normaly a group of ppl?

Thinking about doing this for him on our trip in Sept

We did this 4 years ago and it was fabulous! We didn't get to pick our Imagineer but that was OK by us. I don't know if that has changed or not. You dine with a group of people but on our night it was only one other person - a retired school teacher. You get lots of great attention. I would say do it if he want to be an Imagineer!

No, you don't get to choose your Imagineer. They sign up for it, and are scheduled for their specific date. Apparently it's a popular thing for folks in Imagineering to do. You do not know who you will get until you arrive.

The lunch can be booked for up to 10 guests. How many are in your party depends on how many book the space. If you wanted it to yourself I think you would probably have to book up all 10 spaces.

I would love to schedule this for dds and hubby what does it cost and does anyone have a link

If you go to online dining reservations on the WDW site just check the special dining event circle and it will come up. I think lunch is like $65 (not all that much more than what a regular meal is, I have it booked for July.

You can get an Imagineer for a one-on-one. But you have to know them personally and invite them to lunch. I did this a few years ago for a nephew who is very interested in Imagineering and is currently working at WDW. But I only had about a three week warning that he was going to come to visit me so I could not get in one of the pre-planned meals.

Too cool Cheshire! I see your working PT at WDW! Thats so nice!! My DH and I always talk about coming to Fl to work for WDW..lol

We did this just last Wednesday at the Brown Derby! You cannot pick your Imagineer. However, its a very small group of people and you can ask questions and they will talk PLENTY because they LOVE what they do.

The only way someone could be disappointed by this experience is if they have an interest in a specific area of Imagineering and they got someone with little to no experience in that area.

OR....one of the other guests at your meal is a real winner. My DH and friend's DH did lunch one time while we stayed with the kids. They said one of the other guests seemed to a real chip. She was very domineering and kept asking questions like "didn't Disney really blow it when they blah blah blah...".:headache:

In addition to the Brown Derby luncheon, there is also Dinner with an Imagineer at the Flying Fish at Boardwalk. DH and I did this last September, and it was WONDERFUL. In fact, we enjoyed it so much that we wanted to do it again with our college daughter and friend during spring break, but the week we are there is the only week in the month FF isn't having the Imagineer dinner. At present, it is on Tuesdays, begins at 5:30 in the evening, and has a maximum of 8 guests. Our Imagineer was an executive, extremely knowledgeable about many facets of the company, including the creative. The whole evening was fascinating. In addition, she sent us a reading list of books dealing with many of the questions DH and I had. On top of that, the food at the Flying Fish is superb. We had a set appetizer and dessert, and several options for entrees. Wine pairings were offered, but at an additional fee. The meal is typically served in one of the alcoves off the main dining room. This is sometimes not listed on the Disney website, but you can get the dates by phoning the Flying Fish direct. Loved it! :stitch2::eeyore:
