I am still a little confused with the dining plan. Can you use some of the credits towards breakfast? If so, where & what would a dessert be?
Thanks -

I guess if you went to a character breakfast everything is included, fruit and such would probably be the dessert? I am new to this too but we aren't planning any breakfasts

Do you mean CS or TS? Dessert is no longer included with CS breakfast, not sure about TS.

you can us e the dining plan for bkfst-there is no dessert or appetizer-we used the dining plan for a character bfst at ohana-you should try to stick to dinner at a table service restaurnt to use the dining plan. ohana is all inclusive meal @ bfst-all you can eat and at $18/head plus tax & tip I felt it was worth a table service meal on the DP :flower:

We did 2 character breakfasts last week. We LOVED chef Mickey's and we also did Ohana. The food was MUCH better at chef Mickey's. Both had great character interaction but Ohana had Lilo and Stitch so we had to go because my 5 y.o. is a huge stitch fan! both were covered on the dining plan. We did not ever do counter service breakfast becasue we ate in the room before heading to the park. We used wegoshop.comfor some groceries.

is this new? when we were there we were able to get breakfast, side and dessert plus drink at breakfast... example: waffles/sausage plate (entree), bagel (side or dessert 1) and a piece of fruit (side or dessert 2)... will we have to choose between the bagel and the piece of fruit in the future?
:confused3

I didn't realize it would work with CS for breakfast. We drive down so we usually have yogurt/cereal/fruit/juice in the room so that we can not waste time on breakfast. However I think you should get whatever you would be able to get at lunchtime.

We went this past week and were told we couldn't get an appetizer/dessert with BK. I was totally confused as my friend had just gone and was able to do it plus I had read about it here. We just ended up getting a box of donuts or bagels or fruit for a quick BK and then doing the CS/TS for Lunch and Dinner. Some days I didn't eat BK as the other two meals and a snack during the day were plenty.

We just went to WDW 11/5-11/12. We did eat at Boatwright's at our resort, Port Orleans, and the waitress told us that you get a breakfast entree and two drinks, like juice and coffee.

It is better to save your TS credits for lunch or dinner.

other than a character breakfast, i agree, TS is a 'waste' at breakfast... but my question above refers to CounterService breakfast... i know you cannot get an appetizer, 'cause you cannot even get a CS appy at lunch or dinner... but at breakfast can you get the side and dessert (i.e. waffle/sausage plate, bagel, piece of fruit) or just the side *or* dessert (i.e. waffle/sausage plate, bagel OR piece of fruit)?

For CS breakfast, you just get the entree and the drink. If you don't get a combo platter, you don't get a side, etc. For example, you can get a pancake platter with bacon and a drink. But if you get an omelette, which isn't a combo platter, you just get the omelette and a drink.

Yes, it's new. We were able to have breakfast dessert on our trip also. From other posts I've read, the change began 10/15. The 2006 plan said that dessert wouldn't be included, but I guess wdw decided to impliment it early. Apparently the no dessert for breakfast also includes TS.

We were at WDW last week and the "no dessert at breakfast" was in force then. We just paid out of pocket for breakfast and use CS/TS credits for lunch and dinner, which turned out to be a better value overall.

okay, so no dessert... but do you still get a side? that extra bagel helped us to save a CS each morning...

I'm not expecting to be able to - unless a CM is generous and encourages me. Sounds like they're not being as liberal with the side items and desserts as they were in the past.

For a breakfast CS, I would expect to be able to get a breakfast platter and drink, a breakfast pizza and a drink, or waffles and a drink (just some examples).

Since the CS meal mentions an entree or combo meal - if you're getting a breakfast platter with eggs, biscuit, sausage and potatoes, that's the combo meal. If you choose to get a bagel sandwich and a drink - that's the entree and drink. At least that's what I'm expecting at this point.
