another Dining Plan question

If we're staying at a DVC resort for 6 nights - do we have to buy 6 days worth of the dining plan? Do we have to buy our park tickets via Disney to get the dining plan?

Maybe a stupid question, but the only other time I got the Dining Plan was when I booked EVERYTHING through Disney.com This time we're using our new DVC membership and thinking of buying our park tickets via mousesavers...

And so - how can I buy our dining plan? member services?

For DVC Point stays you have to get the dining plan for all listed guests for all nights. You don't have to get park tickets to get the DVC version of the dining plan.

As a PP said, you have to have the DDP for all nights (not days) of your stay, for all people in the room. You do not need to buy tickets through Disney. We bought ours through Undercover Tourist.
You call Member Services to add the DDP to your reservation.
You will need to pay for it in full at check in. You can not pre pay for it in advance with DVC

If you are staying on a DVC reservation, you can just add dining without buying a ticket for anyone. But you need tickets to enter the parks.

If you are staying on a DRC reservation (cash through Disney not DVC), you cannot just add dining and not get tickets. You have to purchase a package that includes the tickets and room at rack rate.

Like the others have said, you must purchase the dining plan for every night of your reservation for all the guests on the reservation.

We just went and signed our papers tonight and took another tour of the rooms at Bay Lake. (We went to Woodfield's Doorway to Dreams - where they have model rooms set up.) After seeing the kitchen we'll be getting - WOW - makes me NOT want to do the dining plan.

EXCEPT, we did it last time and the ease of everything... it forced us to slow down and EAT. not grab a sandwich and go go go. Also, with all the gluten free stuff they can do - we'll be dining again.

Four months 'til our "first trip home"!
