My fiance and I are having a very small (20-25 people) ceremony in Orlando next January. Afterward we will be having dinner in a private room at Shula's at the Dolphin. I was thinking that a dessert party would be nice to have following dinner. I have been in contact with group catering and hopefully will get to speak to someone in the next few days. I do have a few questions hopefully someone will be able to answer here. What time do the DP's usually start? How far in advance can you book your venue? I was already told that I wouldn't be able to wear my dress to the party! Boo to that. What about my maid of honor and my flower girl? Can they wear their dresses?

Thanks
:)
Less than a year to go....

Why will you not be able to wear your dress? Is that because your DP is not part of a DFTW? I believe that Disney brides are allowed to wear their dress if they arrange transport backstage or are escorted from IG.

For IllumiNations at Epcot, right? :)

What time do the DP's usually start?

8:30pm

How far in advance can you book your venue?

6 months

This is a gray area - it's wedding gowns and tuxedos that send up red flags with the event guides at Epcot. Bridesmaids dresses may look enough like nice-dinner-out clothes that no one will say anything.

Happy planning!

Thanks Lurkyloo for the information. I was thinking my bridesmaid and daughter will be able to get through. I'll just buy a white cocktail dress and see if I can get by with that.

I was wondering about that too... But it's so chilly at night in November I'm gonna want a sweater and uggs anyway :)

My luck I would get ice cream all over the dress anyway :)

I had a dp this past December 9th and it was moved to 9:00 pm since Illuminations got moved to 9:30 pm. Fyi.

I wonder what's up with that, because the DP I went to on December 8th started at 8:30 even though IllumiNations was at 9:30 :scratchin Maybe Rachel & Chauncey requested extra time before the fireworks...
