Thank you for answering about ordering DDE with a voucher! I know it's good for a year, but when does the DDE start? Is there an activation date or does it start when you order it? We're not going until July, so don't want to activate it in March!!!
Thanks, Cindy

i ordered ours in february and was told my expiration date would be april, 2006. should be receiving mine soon; so, will know more about that when i have it. :earboy2:

Why not wait to order it closer to your Disney Date. I ordered mine yesterday and told the CM we were going in about 2 weeks. She sent me a letter to use since it will take 4-6 weeks to get my card. The letter states that the card will expire April 30, 2006.

I ordered mine in January and didn't get it until mid-March. The expiration date is March 31st.

This is not an intelligent question! However, could you tell me what DDE is?
Thanks so much

No dumb questions here. DDE is short for Disney Dining Experience, it is a card for AP holders or Fl residents that gives 20% off most meals and alcoholic beverages in most restaurants and lounges and can be used in food courts of resorts that don't have resaurants (All-Stars, ect.). The discount is not available at counter service locations. It is $50 for AP holders and $75 for Fl res. I used it with my mom for a quick 4 day trip and we saved $43 plus, I will have it for 2 more trips.

Disney Dining Experience. It used only to be open to Florida residents, but was recently opened up to AP holders. It gets you 20% off (including drinks) at a very large number of sit-down restaurants. It costs fifty dollars to join, but I saved $70.00 the last time I went, so it's already more than paid for itself.

We ordered our on March 3 and the letter says it will expire on April 30, 2006

Are there any other "legal" ways to obtain the card? Like if my friend in FL orders one and I use it? Or is ID required? Thanks!

Now that I think about it we always used credit cards that matched the name on the dde card....so though we didn't have to show a photo id perhaps they considered the credit card id enough.

The email I received to use til I get my card states

Please verify that the name above matches the drivers license or other picture ID

So will check ID. Remember for FL residents its $75.

Thanks all - I probably won't risk it to save a few bucks. I guess if there was a way around it - they would have alot of DDE people that don't live in FL nor have a AP.

when i ordered mine i was allowed to add a second name to my membership, I added my wife but i suppose you could add whoever you wanted too. Disney is pretty liberal about those policies.

Nope, spouse only. I tried to get 1 for my father (lives in same household) and was told no.
