Another day waking with a headache!!

Anyone else? I know it is because it is so cold and dry but it is just awful. Ever since they made changes to sinus headache pills we can not find anything that does the trick like the old Tylenol Sinus pills.

How is the humidity in your house? Do you need to run some kind of humidifer near the bed at night? I know that during the winter, especially with the heavy duty sinus meds, my head dries out easier and I have horrible headaches from it.

We have all been feeling a lot better at my house since we have been religious in running the humidifiers. It feels a lot warmer in the house, too.

We have a humidifier thing set up on our heat pump I think. But I dont think it does anything. I was wondering about getting a little one for our bedroom, and it sounds like a good idea. Taking a hot shower helps a bit, but it seems like headache is back in no time.

Thank you for posting this! I woke up at 1:30 this morning and I thought I was dying. My head hurt so bad! I didn't get a humidifier yet, so i am simmering a big pot of water on the stove. I think it's the cold/dry air in addition to the low pressure system this week.

Ok.....I know exactly what you are saying about the changes in meds. You need to ask the pharmicist for something behind the counter with sudaphefedrine(sp) in it. Even the OTC sudafed brand no longer has sudaphedrine but another alternative called phenylephrine(sp) and its just not as effective IMHO! Also the claritan-D generics are reformulated and you have to get name brand claritan-D behind the counter to get what you are expecting. I have had such a hard time dealing with the common cold because the medicines you relied on in past are re-formulated. Even good ol' Nyquil has been changed
I agree with keeping a humidifier going, you can also put a few drops of euculyptis oil on your furnace filter, or any other oil essence, to help open up the sinuses.

Did you know you can still buy the "good stuff" as in sudafed or any of those with sudephedrine IF you go to the pharmacy (I go to walmart pharmacy) and show ID. they let you purchase a set amount every 30 days. This is what I do. I take two regular sudafed and 2-3 ibuprofen to knock out a sinus headache. I buy the max they will permit and they last a long time. (much longer than the 30 days).

almost every day list..we used to take the Walmart brand of sinus pills and they worked great..now that they have been 'remodeled'..they do nothing..I have resorted to Excedrin Migraine pills..they do the trick..not the walmart brand though..they do nothing!

I was thinking when I woke up this morning that I am tired of having sinus headaches almost everyday. I need to look into a humidifier because this is getting old. My eyes hurt most of the time; it makes working on the computer everyday not very pleasant.
