Currently we have 2 day park hoppers with the thought that we would try to get to the beach for a day. The more I read on the DIS, the more I wonder if we should skip the beach and add a day in the parks???

We will be there the first week in Nov. Will it be cold at the beach?

Have never been to DL before, but have been to WDW.

Looking for recommendations.....TIA

I think 3 days at Disneyland and California Adventure is perfect, but when we went in February last year, we took a day off and went to the beach and loved it. Are you traveling with kids? We had 4 in our group and it was nice for them to take a day off and just play. We were there towards the end of October and the temperature was still in the low 90's. Huntington Beach is beautiful and is only about 45 minutes away.

2 days for us is never enough. Lol we have never broke up our DL stays with other parks or the beach, although it appears many people enjoy it. :)
If we want to go to the beach that's a seperate trip altogether.

I vote for more Disneyland!! :cool1:

The waters of the Pacific are usually pretty chilly. Maybe add another day to your park hoppers. Then spend a half day at the beach and half a day at the parks?? If you get off to a fairly early start, most of the beaches are about an hour away.
Maybe do Santa Monica Pier. Put you toes in the sand. play for about an hour, do an early lunch and head back to the parks???????

Totally agree. If it was summer then I would lean towards the beach. But November? The water is too cold to go in. You could wade maybe. The Santa Monica Pier might be fun. But honestly I would skip the beach altogether in November and spend another day at DLR.

we have gone to DLR in mid october a few times, and we always spend a half a day at the beach. the water is way too cold to actually swim, so the kids played in the sand, ran around, and got their feet wet. We would get to the beach about 9 am, have lunch and a rest break/nap, then head back into the parks at about 3 or 4 pm. the beach is a fun, relaxing break from the parks, and well worth the effort.
