Another day, another business trip…another Dining Review from Italy! FINISHED!

I had 2 servings of the creamy potatoes as well. They were AMAZING! I've searched high & low for the recipe w/ no luck :(----

Here you go :goodvibes

Chef Mickey's Cheesy Creamy Bacon Hash Brown Potatoes
Contemporary Resort Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients:
2 cups of shredded potatoes
4 cups of cheese sauce
½ cup of whole milk
1/3 cup of bacon bits (reserve 2 Tablespoons)
1 teaspoon dill (fresh or dried)
1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
½ cup of shredded mozzarella

Method of Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350*. Combine all ingredients except for shredded cheeses and the reserved 2 tablespoons of the bacon bits. Mix until well incorporated. Take a casserole dish and spray with cooking spray. Spoon potato mixture into dish spread out evenly. Place in oven and bake for approx 35 minutes until potatoes are tender. Top with the shredded cheddar, mozzarella and remaining bacon bits. Place back into the oven and bake for approx. 10 - 15 minutes until cheeses are melted and caramelized. Take out of the oven and let rest for 10 minutes.

I hadn’t much room for shacks during this trip, but as already mentioned, I wanted to try some snacking around the world.
I couldn’t find several snacks I have read about here (Norwegian salted licorice, Mexican obleas, US classic candy), but here is what I have found (and mainly brought home).

German Werthers caramel popcorn: OK, this is not new to many of you, but it is always delicious!

Canadian maple lollypops: I love them!

English toffee: I have had lots of toffee in my life, but these were fantastic and my whole family enjoyed them.

And the scariest item: Japanese snacks!
The snow pea crisps (on the left) were tasteless, but the potato puffs (right) were very good, while a bit different, and the Sriracha Peas were very spicy and different and I am happy I have tried them.

There is an impressive array of snacks in Mitsukoshi, and they are a good chance to try something really new (at least to me).
It may be slightly risky, as it is difficult to guess what you find inside the package, but it’s fun!

Wow, thanks!
Did you find it in a Disney cookbook?

I actually just used bing. I entered "Chef Mickey's at Contemporary Resort Disney World hash brown potato casserole recipe" and this is what came up on allearsnet.com :thumbsup2 I also found the same recipe on magicalrecipes.com :)

I figured the more info I put in to search, the better chance I had of finding the right one :flower3:

Can't wait to try it :goodvibes

I'm sure it will be delicious... :woohoo:

My review is sadly at the end… but before closing it, here are the other snacks I have bought and brought back to my children.

First of all, here are the coconut patties, which all of my family loves. They are nothing exotic, but everything tastes better in a Mickey shape!

And a vacation is not a vacation without some nutritious Goofy’s Candy Co candy! My daughter is still munching on it!

I just read this whole review end to end. It was delightful. Thanks for sharing!

All of your food looks really good. What an amazing experience to be able to go by yourself and enjoy everything at your own pace! :goodvibes

Oh, I'd love to bring my kids sooner or later: I went to Disneyland Paris with my 5 year old and she's still talking about it one year later!

But you're right, it is very relaxing :cloud9:

Unhappy with my lunch, on the way out I stopped at the Florida booth and had the feta, watermelon, arugula and onions salad. It was absolutely delicious and very refreshing on a hot day.

My husband and I fell in love with this dish and had it several times when we were there in March. I have desperately tried to duplicate it to no success. It is delicious!

It really is!

I thought that Flower and Garden booths were really underrated: delicious and so not crowded!

but I think people will slowly realize that they are there, and F&G will gradually become more similar to (the madness that is) Food and Wine :grouphug:
