I received my Connections material in the mail today and quickly wnet to the Disney meal certificates page. As per other posts, they listed "Vacation Kingdom Dinner Certificates" which included restaurants like Flying Fish, Citricos and California Grill (to name but a few). So I called to get more info. The first three times I called I logged in with my ID number only to hear silence on the other end for a good five minutes. So I called back and hit the general program info number and someone quickly responded.
I asked about the dinner certificates and was met with more silence. After she tried to convince me that these were quick and casual I asked to speak to a supervisor. Was put on "ignore" again for five minutes and then I hung up. Started reading the membership materials and NO WHERE did they list the cost of the membership. At that point, I was determined to cancel.
I called back and got the "party line" about what a great program this was, so I shared with "Sarah" why I was cancelling..the lack of info on membership fee and the certificates. She offered to investigate the dinner certificates for me. When she came back on the line, she tried to convince me that "Vacation Kingdom" was the name of the restaurant and, opposed to the quick and casual restaurants, this was a sit down, full service restaurant. I started to explain that "vacation kingdom" was not a restaurant but then I gave up. Cancelled on the spot. She offered to cut the membership fee from $79.95 to $19.95. No thanks!!!!

I understand your frustration with Connections! I called 3 times yesterday to see if my order had been shipped. That is exactly what I asked, "Was my order shipped" and the guy I talked to said "What exactly do you want" Geez, I didn't think my question was that hard!! Anyway, I placed my order on 5/16 and he said it shipped 5/16. I knew that wasn't right and called again and the lady I got said that they were being printed and needed to be charged to my credit card. I told her that they already had charged it to my card! Again, called for the 3rd time, asked for a supervisor, I didn't get one, but the girl I talked to that time investigated and after all that my item shipped and she gave me a tracking number. I have found that their representatives really do not care and have very little information when you ask them anything. The only way I have found anything out is if I talk to a supervisor when you can get one!

I have had luck with emailing them, they have responded with tracking numbers, but my problem now is today I logged into my paypal account (I ordered my meal vouchers with my virtual mastercard) and see they tried to charge me another 81.00 and it was denied because I don't keep money in there. The original charge for 95.00 from a week ago when I ordered the vouchers is still showing up as pending, so I don't know if they split my order up and are trying to re-charge me two different times (81.00 and there will be another one) or what the deal is. I called, got an idiot who said they didn't try to charge me but I'm looking right at it. That 95.00 charge should go to "approved" or whatever they do to it, so I went ahead and reported my "virtual mastercard" stolen, so if they ever try to charge me again it won't go thru. I plan to cancel in a week, and I've heard about them charging people, etc. so I want to make sure this won't happen!!

After hearing stories about Connections, I think CASH will do just great for my family:) Thanks for sharing your stories.

I guess I must have gotten lucky. I did the 30 day Connections trial back in January to order tickets for my February WDW vacation. I ordered park hoppers and Q & C meal vouchers. When I called, I told them what I wanted to order, they transferred me to a supervisor who took my order and 2 days later, I had my tickets. I then cancelled my membership. Absolutely no problems.

My husband just did the 30 day trial a couple weeks ago as we are going to WDW in June and wanted to order meal vouchers again. We called on Tuesday and received our vouchers yesterday (Thursday). Again, no problem.

I have heard that a lot of people have had problem with Connectins, but I guess we have been lucky. We did find that there is a couple different phone numbers. The one we had all the luck with is 1-877-503-4052.

I had a problem with them, too. I ordered vouchers---they arrived during a very busy week (on Wed.) when I was unable to pick them up from my apartment office due to loooong hours at work. On Friday, I got a call on my answering machine that they had made a mistake on my order and were charging me for that mistake. They sent twice as many vouchers as I ordered and charged me double for them! I picked up my vouchers on Sat. and sure enough, twice as many! My debit card was charged immediately. I was not a happy camper--I only keep enough in that account to meet expenses (plus a few dollars extra)--when they charged the double amount, it cost me an extra $30 over limit fee-----they said I could return the extra vouchers for a refund--but would do nothing about the extra fee---I cancelled my membership!

I have ordered from Connections over a dozen times and have never had a problem. I was always charged correctly and rec'd the vouchers and gift certificates in about 3 days.

Maybe I've just been lucky:D

After hearing your problems, and others problems as well, I'm glad I didn't sign up for Connections!!!

I had no problems with connections.

I joined online through MyPoints, when directly to their online store. I ordered 5 Q&C vouchers and $50 in Planet Hollywood GC's.

I charged it to my credit card.

2 days later I had my certificates and the next day I called and cancelled, in a matter of minutes.

Knock on wood, I have not had a problem with connections and have ordered probably 30 times from them. My membership is up in July and I have not been contacted about renewal. I want to see if they just charge my credit card for the renewal. For all the freebies they gave me--$25 Walmart certificate, $25 gas certificate and $60 in vouchers which I have gotten $40 back already, I can't complain. Do I think the membership is worth $79.95??? Absolutely not!! I hope they offer me more incentives to keep my membership. I like buying the Media Play and Toys r us for $25 value for only $20. I never call and ask about an order--those people answering the phone have no clue--email them and avoid the frustration. Good Luck everybody!

I found out the price of their new vacation kingdom DINNER voucher, 62.50. Kind of steep if you ask me!

Wow! at 62.50 you would really have to be selective with where and what you order. No bargain for Hoop-dee-doo as cash would be cheeper! We didn't even spend that much for our anniversary dinner at the California Grill (since the alcohol would be extra anyway). I had hoped they would at least be as good a deal at a few places as the feature lunch vouchers are.

Mousey - How did you get the freebies? I just ended my trial period and I'm curious if they just give them to paid members or what?
Thanks!

I'm a MyPoints member, and have never gotton a MyPoints Bonus e-mail about Connections.....

Maybe I'm just got in the right phase of the moon???

I have been a member of Connections for many years (they automatically renew if you don't cancel) and have not received these 'incentives'. How did you get them? Did you attempt to cancel and they lured you back perhaps?
