Another closure--getting frustrated

We're going to the WDW in a few weeks, and every other day I look to find another closure! This time the Boneyard, which would have been fun for my little ones (Flights of Wonder is another thing we wanted to try that is closed.) I get that we're going at a less busy time but it's getting really frustrating! We're still paying a decent amount to go on this vacation. We're lucky that we have jobs that allow for travel year round and our kids can miss a week of preschool so we can go at slower times. We're still putting money into the Disney coffers, just not paying peak season prices. Isn't it better for everyone to spread out the crowds??
I know, I know...if I don't like it, don't go. And this will probably be our last trip for several years. Luckily, MK seems to be in tact for our trip, minus some monorail service. Pop has one pool down, but two remain open.

I was just about ready to post the same thing, LOL, I'm very disappointed in the Boneyard closure, I knew my DS would have loved it. =(

I'm glad its the Bowling Pin bowl and not Hippy Dippy or I would have really been sad.

I get that things need updated, but how about doing night time work or something? And DHS is another can of worms I wont go into. I literally found out that Club Disney existed last week. I put it in my plans and the next day it was closed for good.

I got sucked into the Disney excitement and I forgot what a cynical person I usually am...

Some things can't be done in a night. Its unfortunate but everyone should go into a Disney vacation expecting to have something closed. I don't think I have ever had a vacation with everything open. This is also the "slower season" where refurbishments are more common than say in the summer where it is busier.

Refurb closures are a necessary evil of a 356 day a year operation, unfortunately. It is a bummer when a favourite attraction is down during your visit. Last year it was PoTC for us. Fortunately, we go yearly so there is some comfort knowing it will be there next time (hopefully). I feel bad mostly for those going on a once in a lifetime trip who miss out on a major attraction.

It will be closed for our trip too :sad1: my boys loved it last year, though I cant say I am overly upset as I had to drag them out last time

There are an insane amount of closures across the parks at the moment with many sadly for good (though fortunately not in this instance). I am sure it will all be worth it when we see what Disney has in store for us, especially with the likes of Toy Story and Star Wars Land.

That's the spirit -- a bad day at Disney is better than a good day at work, right?

Unless, of course, you work at Disney...

Isn't that the truth. Just got back from 9 days and I've never seen so much hostility and awful behavior from guests to CMs. It truly was off the charts.

At least the only punches were guest on guest.

I think Disney is in a state of transition. Things are being torn down, replaced, built, refurbished etc. It does not seem to be stopping people from going though. It is more crowded than ever. People are going to Disney and paying top dollar now, imagine once everything is finished. No matter when you go, there will be rides closed, hotels being refurbished, pools closed etc. It stinks, but at least you get warning so you can adjust plans. Last time we went POTC was down, I was so disappointed as this is one of my favs. Didn't stop our fun, just kind of a bummer. The boneyard is great, my kids loved it, we had to drag them out. You can always go to Honey I Shrunk the kids playground. Oh wait...........

Just think how fabulous it will be when everything is done. Then we will all be complaining about how crowded it is. Oh wait............

Seriously though, I get the disappointment. Once you are there, it will all be fine and you wont' even think about it.

Seriously? That couldn't have been good.

Yikes. No matter how surly people were (guests and CM's alike) I have never seen someone throw a punch. :scared1:
