Another Castaway Cay Waverunner question: DS16 too young to go alone?

My DH thinks that DS16 is too young to go on the Castaway Cay waverunner excursion alone. For those of you who've done it, or are considering doing it, do you think DS16 would be OK on this excursion without one of us going too? Either way, DS16 would drive his own waverunner, even if DH and I also went on the excursion. Also, DS16 has had his driver's permit and has been driving on the road for several months now, so he does have some driving experience. He's always been a pretty responsible kid, too.

Opinions welcome :)

We just got back and did that excursion. Me, dh, and ds (15). My dh and ds got a double and I rode a single. We all got on our waverunners and he started pointing at us to follow in line behind the guide. I was the second one he pointed at and we headed out and the wake got huge. We were going at a fast speed in front. It was challenging for me. I had a great time and would do it again but we went way out. We did not go around Castaway Cay but out away from it toward another island. On the way back, I hung back and was last and that was much better b/c I didn't feel the pressure to go so fast. We went earlier in the morning. Those that went that afternoon said it was really rough. They couldn't even stop for the eco-tour part b/c it was so rough. On the other hand, my dh wished that he was on a single and up front so he could have gone faster. To each his one.
