Another Cancelled Trip...

We just can't seem to catch a break here lol.

We had a trip scheduled for early 2020 - COVID; cancelled
We had a trip scheduled for late 2020 - COVID; cancelled
We had a trip scheduled for late 2021 - COVID; cancelled (Canadians - so the border was not open for us yet, etc)

Now we have a trip scheduled for September of this year - everything looked like it was finally coming together. Well, then I get a call from my doctor yesterday and I've been diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. So, now we're very likely going to have to cancel our trip, as I will be going through cancer treatments probably for the next 6 months.

We are Canadian as well and travelled in August 2021 (first time during Covid) and again in March 2022. Two great WDW vacations that got us back into the swing of our three annual Disney vacations. The border was definitely open (as long as you were vaxed, tested and masked for a flight). We're back in August 2022 and then December 2022 etc. So sorry to hear about this: thoughts and prayers your way. Here's to hoping you get back in the swing soon.

I’ve had non Hodgkin’s lymphoma over 12 years ago. I was blessed to have it in remission after six chemo treatments. I hope things go as smoothly for you! Blessings and prayers.

Oh no, I’m so sorry! I had to cancel multiple trips due to the pandemic as well; it’s been an unpredictable few years. I hope your cancer treatments go extremely well and your next trip will finally be the one you don’t have to cancel!

In the meantime, I like to play a little game where I try to find local experiences that are almost like what I’m missing at the parks—for example, trying to make blue milk and green milk at home. It’s a bit of an adventure and a distraction, if nothing else, and sometimes I find pretty good things—like recipes I actually prefer to the park versions!

Thanks everyone for the positive messages. It’s definitely a bit of a surreal time right now. Still waiting on a call with an appointment from the cancer agency. Waiting is definitely the hardest part right now. We look forward to our next trip after this is behind us. I’ll be living through everyone’s trip reports.
