Another "Can I carry this on?" question

Hi,

I know everyone is tired of the "can I carry XXX on the plane" questions, but I just thought of something today. When we travel with our niece we've always taken color wonder markers, but I would assume they are liquid or at least gel. Will these be allowed? They are under 3ozs but they are not for personal care. What do you guys think? If they are allowed will we need to put them in a quart bag?

did you check TSA.gov? If it is not on the banned list, they will be ok to take. You don't have to put them in a quart bag.

I have traveled since the newer regs were put into force.
The TSA regulations only seem to be concerned with gels(like gel insoles) or liquids (no bottled liquids - no wine, water, soda, milk, etc - carried into the security area). I have seen nothing about gel pens or markers being confiscated (or even pecan pies that are slightly gelatinous, for that matter). That being said, I have also heard about some agents giving the traveling public a hard time about using extra ziploc bags to carry-on other items, like pills, medicines, clothing, etc.
This did NOT happen to me, but some folks here on the DIS have reported seeing this or hearing about this at MCO...I tend to think this might have happened early on, when the regs didn't seem to be clear.

The markers should be fine.

I flew in September when the regs were still at the stricter level. We took the Cars color wonder book and the box of color wonder markers in our carry-on. No problem at MCO or Buffalo. My sister and DD flew from BUF to Atlanta to MCO with color wonder and regular markers. No problems!
