As I said in an earlier post I am trying to work up a basic budget for our 7 day eastern crusie. I realize everyone is different and therefore their budgets will vary but can some of the veterns tell me how much you normally budget for your trips per day ?
We are not big drinkers ( but there is something about the carribean that makes pina coladas taste so much better) and we will be receiving the mugs from AAA.
I realize that excursions/Spa and from what I hear Shutters can affect the budget and I am prepared to add these prices to what ever you suggest...I am just trying to get a basic starting point for how much per day you think you have spent. I don't want to have to think about $$$$ when I am on vacation. I want it all set aside. Thank you all !

Not cruise vet, but would like to provide some items for you consideration other than spa, excursions, and tips?

1. Shutters, look into the packages. Can't remember the prices??
2. Dinner - Are you wine drinkers? Glasses or bottle/s. The nice thing about buying a bottle is that if you are not finish with it during that meal, it will follow you to the next day dinner.
3. Dinner - After dinner speciality coffee. Extra
4. Not sue if this applies to you - by kids in the arcade...
5. Gift shop - shopping... we spent a little more that I though but the shirt with DCL logo were to nice to pass up. :D
6. While watching the show they also sell fruit smoothies, ...

Hope this helps...have fun planning...

din - gave you a good starting point. A week or so ago there was a thread on the packages available in Shutters and the current prices. You may want to do a search and find that info.

The drinks do add up. By that I mean the specialty drinks, wine, and the Konk Coolers! Decide before you go how much you are going to have each day- set a limit and stick to it.

They do have some nice things in the gift shops on board. I bought a nice necklace with the Magic 'floating' on it. It was more than I probably would have normally spent but I wanted it. Also how much are planning to shop on the islands? Are you planning on picking up gifts for other people? If so set a $ limit. On the islands you can buy stuff with little money - and you can/must haggle.

If you have kids travelling with you there is the arcade and snacks outside of the theater that are not included.

You can book your excursion through Disney before you cruise so you will have that amount up front.

I don't remember our total at the end of the cruise(DH settled up and I didn't want to ruin a fabulous trip!lol) Beside these things and the spa that you mentioned there is not a lot more to spend your money on while on board. But you can spend A LOT of it in these few places! Some people have posted that they spent less that $100 and others have spent a couple of thousand.

I know that you mentioned that you are not big drinkers, but I thought you might want to know that alcohol is less expensive on St. Maarten than in the duty free shop on the ship. I picked up a bottle of Bailey's for $10 on St. Maarten that cost $15 on the ship.

If you think that pina coladas taste good in the Caribbean, don't miss the Guavaberry Coladas on St. Maarten. I brought home TWO bottles of Guavaberry rum. :D

the 6x8 picture package is $84.95 for 10 pictures. There are also more packages, but thats the one I got so I remember it
