Hey everyone. Just wondering where exactly you can buy these ears in the parks since it's been years since I've been there! Also, I've read things about people receving these for free if they are proposed to in the parks? Is that true or was this just a bit of pixie dust for these people? :)

Thanks everone!!

You can get them almost anywhere that sells hats in the parks. We also found them in several resort gift shops (after spending some time walking all over Epcot and getting them at Mousegear, we found them the next day at the BWI Screen Door Store...A LOT closer than the store in Epcot! :rotfl: ). Some locations might be "out" of them, but you can usually find them at the next shop down! ;)

As for getting "free" ones...I don't know. My guess is that would be some of that "pixie dust" we've heard tell about! ;)

If you are at MK, the best place is the hat shop- they can also do embroidery there, too!
As for getting free ears in the park if you get engaged- I have never seen or heard of that. :confused3 I got engaged in the park and didn’t receive any- I guess I will have to settle with the ring. :rotfl:
I have heard of people getting free embroidery.
I hope you enjoy the ears! :wave2:

The ears that they have now can't be embroidered. The bride ones are white on a headband and the groom ears hat is a very light felt.

We bought ours from the hat shop at the mk, also saw them on a cart at mgm. :bride: :wizard:

I bought the bride ears at my resort (Caribbean Beach Resort) last week. I also saw them at Magic Kingdom on a hat cart on Main Street, which is conveniently close to Cinderella's Castle.

As for the groom ears, I thought about picking one up but they are very cheap quality. Not to mention the plastic ears are stapled onto the hat.

I was given my ears when DF proposed to me at MK. He had talked to one of the CMs at Guest Services earlier in the day. She said to stop by after he did it. Her name was Kristen and she handed us a bag with the set of ears and wished us congratulations. We were very surprised and happy.

We also got free ears from a cm, her name was Amy. We had just went back in to get a new birthday button because I lost mine when DFi proposed, and she had given me my button earlier so I told her not only I had lost my button but I got engaged and she got all excited and gave a voucher for some ears :teeth:

She too thought they could be embroidered and had included that on the voucher but when we took them to get it done they said they can't on the new hats.

Only problem I had with the quality of the mens hat is we chose not to wear them on the plane so we took them in our carry on. The top hat was packed VERY carefully and the bag never left my side, but of corse when I took it out of the bag one of the ears was practially off, since they are just stapled. And more with the staples, since my DFi has such a fat head we had to jam the hat on and the staples left some funny marks on his head. It's okay though because I like to wear his top hat around the house :thumbsup2

We also have a problem with the grooms hat being too small. They should make them in a larger size as well.

could I ask if anyone knows how much the bridal ears and groom's top hat are please? Someone has offered to get them for me while they are in Florida, but I don't know how much money to give her to buy them for me. Thanks!

I believe the bride's ears were either $16 or $17 (plus 6.5% sales tax). The groom's hat is cheaper and the size is non-adjustable.

Ok, I have to geek out at the moment because my aunt had her neighbors pick the ears up for us at the park when they went in Dec. She suprised me with them on a visit a few weeks ago.

We did a little photo shoot last night and I just have to share!

Thanks! I can make sure I give enough money now.

 that photo!

There is also a seller on ebay who has these hats if you can't make it down to the parks.

it's not that I doubt chocolatemouse, but could someone please confirm this price is about right, as I'd hate to not send enough money as she's doing me a favour by getting them for me.
Thanks!

I have heard alot of problems with the groom ears. I was thinking of purchasing one of those groom baseball hats that they sell in party stores and such and getting regular ears and taking the ears off and stapeling or sewing them on the groom baseball hat. I do not think my DBF would wear the groom ears but would not mind the baseball hat with the ears put on.

Awww... those ears are SO cute! I can't wait to get mine! My DF has a rather large head (for his rather large brains, I should add) so I'm not sure that the Groom Hat will fit - although he did get a Disney Hat (Indiana Jones) a few years back and that fits (but swamps me!). Still, whatever, you gotta love those ears!!!:goodvibes

I found my receipt and I can confirm that on December 4, 2006, the bride ears cost $16.00 + $1.04 in sales tax.

HB/AD/MN/Bride Ear $16.00 :bride:
Product number 400116769288

They're the exact ears that alexdrovna posted on this thread and they cost the same no matter where in the WDW resort you buy them. I remember the groom ears are cheaper, but we didn't buy them because we didn't like the quality or the fit. I recall the groom ears were no more than $12.00.
