Another Birthday Badge question

We are taking the kids to WDW in Feb. for my DD's 5th b-day (it will be their 1st trip there). We will be traveling down on her b-day (she will "open" the trip as her present) and arriving at PC in the afternoon; planning just a "peek" in MK (to get the "awe struck-ness" out of the way) before PS's at Chef Mickey's.

Okay, here's my question: would it be worth it to try to get hold of a Bday badge ahead of time (we have family that works inside of WDW who could send me one)? If so, we could give it to DD in the morning to wear on the plane (I would think that the flight crew on the plane and even other passengers will likely comment and make her feel special) and at check-in at PC (where I Know the CM's will respond to the badge). Or, should we just make Town Hall our 1st stop in MK and get the badge when we get there -- I've read some posts that indicate that just the GETTING the badge is full of excitement!

Keep in mind -- she will probably wear the badge all weekend while we're there -- you only turn 5 at WDW once, you know!

Thanks for your opinions!

If you can get one definately let her wear it - I think its a great idea! If you can't get the MK one then try a hallmark or craft store. I know around here they sell ribbons (like a blue ribbon you win?) with "I am 5 today" this could be fun as well.

We were just there last week for our DD's 5th B-Day! We bought her a badge at a B-day party store that said, "Today's my 5th Birthday" not knowing they gave them out at MK. When we were arriving at the park that day, an employee noticed her badge and told us to go and get another one at City Hall so we did. She had a big smile on her face when they fave it to her!!:) We did Chef Mickeys(they brought her a cupcake w/a candle on it and sang to her), and that night we did HDDR( they came to the table and talked to her and sang. They were great!!)

Happy 5th to your daughter!!!

City Hall in MK makes a big deal when a child gets a birthday badge. Goofy even calls to say Happy Birthday!

I would find a Birthday Ribbon/Badge at the store at home that she could wear for the plane etc and then go to City Hall to get the badge. Getting it is deffiently half the fun.

Thank you all for your comments -- I never even thought of just getting her a "generic" badge for the trip down -- what a great idea! Also, I've ordered her a custom Disney Princess t-shirt that says "It's my 5th birthday and I'm going to Walt Disney World!" - but since it will be Feb and we live in CT, no one will see that until we start to shed the winter layers!

I love the DIS! (My husband would never understand the importance of these decisions!) :Pinkbounc

What time does City Hall open? My DD will celebrate her 5 bday at MK. We have PS for Princess Breakfast at CRT at 8:30 and will have to enter park before it is opened. WOuld like her to have the badge for her princess welcome!
