We have been blessed with a week of beautiful weather - blue skies and sunshine, low 80's, low humidity - just perfect.
Just got in from EPCOT. We watched Illuminations on a bench on the bridge across from Mouse Gear. Afterwards we had to make our way through the waves of people to get back to the Boardwalk. I was walking with my arm around DS9 while the song was playing - "We go on...moving closer through the years...ever on..through the good times and the tears..." So appropriate with that boy of ours and I get all choked up whenever I hear that song. The 4 of us were holding hands while they were playing "heyla..oh heyla heyla.." A wonderful family moment. (We really miss the parade)
This morning we finally got an early start and got to MGM right after 9. We walked in to Little Mermaid, then The Great Movie Ride and then Indiana Jones. We were in the front row on the left and thought that was great. Unfortunately, the show had to be stopped because they could not move that big set that was in front of us - you know the one that has those 3 statues with the axes? Everyone was disappointed but there wasn't anything we could do. Unfortuantely we didn't make it back to a later show.
Then we walked into Millionaire. The first one in the hot seat was a 9 year old girl from Canada whose first language was not english! Her Mom got to help her and she managed to get a ball cap. The second one in the hot seat was a pastor from Texas and he got 3 questions from the cruise. We were all rooting for him and were disappointed when he lost.
On to Pizza Planet for lunch. It is one place where DS will eat. The place was packed with teenagers! Afterwards we played air hockey, a family favorite. The kids also played skee-ball and a few others.
Afterwards we walked into The Muppets.
That was about all we wanted to do so we headed back to the resort. The kids really wanted to go swimming. Lots of signs around stating the pool was only for resort guests but there was no-one checking id's. The kids really like the slide there. DH was doing laundry so I like the size of the pool because I can keep an eye on both kids.
We tried to get a ps for Le Cellier for dinner but nothing was open. We ended up going to the Big River Brewing place on the Boardwalk for the first time. We are not beer drinkers, but the food was ok. I had a chicken and pasta dish and DH had the sirloin. Both good.
I took the kids for a while and DS played the game where you throw 4 balls and if you knock down wooden clowns with 3 of the balls you win a prize. DS had his heart set on winning one of the stuffed parrots. I bought him 3 games (12 balls) for $5. He threw 4 and got 3 down..I threw 4 and got 2 down...then he threw another 4 and got another 3...so he won two parrots! He gave one to his sister and he was one happy boy! I was thrilled since it takes a bit to get him happy. Afterwards both kids played the shell game with an entertainer and they both won and got lolipops.
We finally got to walk over to EPCOT. DD5 just had to ride the Mexico ride again. Then DH wanted to go check out the games and the store at the end of Mission Space. We stayed there for quite a bit. If you haven't done so already, go in there and set out a postcard from space - hysterical!!
DH bought himself 2 Mission Space t-shirts and a windbreaker.
Then it was time for the fireworks and that's where I started this.
Another day has just flown by. We have been taking things at our own space and already we're talking about the things we've missed and how we'll do them next trip.
House of Mouse is on and then lights out. Tomorrow is our last full day.
