Dh and I NEVER agree on names. Our other sons were named by my best friend and mother many HOURS after they were born.

I need some boy name suggestions (we have a fmaily name picked for a girl) We have a LONG last name, so we are looking for something not too long for a 1st name, something that will 'go' with Cody and Shane (our sons' names). Middle name will most likely be Joseph.

Tyler, Jake, Brian, Ethan, Evan? We have two DS and had no problem picking out their names, but none of the ones listed are our boys -they're names are long. Good luck. I never did get to use my girl's name-Stephanie. oh well.

Ian is the Scottish form of John and Sean is the Irish form. I wouldn't do it for that reason. I don't think either name is bad, though.

Love the name Gavin! Had 3 girls so never got to use it. Funny, all 3 times I had a boys name picked out but just couldn't narrow it down to a girls name, Until after they were born, the last one wasn't named until the next day!

My DS is Evan. It's the Welsh form of John I believe (even tho we're Irish ) He's in elementary school and there are 1-2 per grade at most, which is good. Not common but not too out there either! I call him Ev or "E", but mostly Evan - I'm pretty fond of it! Good luck to ya!
