ok I wrote on here the other day about airfare to aruba, We didn't find a deal but we bite the bullet and bought tickets for 522.00 round trip. So this girls trip which we thought was going to be a good deal really is not. The time share is 700.00 and spliting 4 ways(175.00) each and then when we are there we have to 50.00 each for some kind of tax to be there. OK. Here is the other question I know there is a grocery store walking distance and we have a full kitchen, so how are the prices for food and buying alcohol at store. Is there anything we can do on the cheap, heard you can walk to the other resorts if you want. I am sure we will have a blast just us girls a once in a lifetime trip! :goodvibesWould live to hear any advice thanks

Sorry I don't have any info - We were there 16 years ago for our honeymoon. Just wanted to say "have a great time!"

We were there almost 15 years ago for our honeymoon. We were warned ahead of time about the high cost of food (I remember 2 small pieces of pizza and 1 small can of Coke being over $20). Since they are an island, they have to import almost everything so almost everything is super expensive. We ended up bringing food. We brought concentrated foods that we could make in our room (which only had a fridge) for breakfast, plus granola, dry cereal, snacks, etc. Anything we could fit in to our suitcase we brought. And on the way home, it left room for souvenirs.

We were just there in April and were shocked at the food prices. We were in a timeshare so had the full kitchen as well. We brought food from home (non perishable things) which mostly got us through breakfast for the week as well as snack food throughout the day. We skipped buying bottled water b/c their water out of the facet was great (plus we also brought the drink mixes to add to water if we wanted to). I'm not sure where you are staying but we were in Palm Beach and had to drive to the grocery store. I think no matter where you are staying, there are always places to walk to, though. You could look for happy hour prices or early bird dinning to help lower the cost if you go out to eat. Enjoy your trip!

I was there in 92...and we were poor, just out of college then...but we were told the food was crazy expensive even then and packed one suitcase with just food. Plastic jars of PB and jelly, mac and cheese, canned spaghetti sauce and dry spaghetti, etc. That saved us a lot.

Thanks for the tips guys! Maybe we can check a bag with just food and pay for the fee it still will prob. cheaper.

And just remember that most airlines let you have at least 1 free piece of luggage when you are going international...I know we didn't pay anything on United.:)
