Another Airtran Question?

Well this isn't exactly orlando related... but my husband and I are flying to Baltimore on Airtran the first week of august, we usually fly Southwest, but hey $139 compared to $200+, well that was an easy decision to make, plus it seems the reviews are usually pretty positive.

My question is what is your opinion about spending the extra $20 (its a connecting flight) to reserve seats early? There are just two of us, and of course we would like to sit together, but we don't really care if its front of the plane or back of the plane. Will I be okay if I check in exactly 24 hours before our flight?

Or is it worth it to pay the $20?

Jennifer

We always fly in and out of baltimore and I have never paid extra. I always check in online 24 hours before and choose my seats. Our family of 5 always seems to get row 18....strange huh?!

Thanks!

That's weird about the seats though... maybe it gives you something familiar to always come back to! :)

I just booked our seats for Feb. 08 today and paid the extra since there will be 4 of us and we wanted to sit 2 in front and 2 behind instead of 1 on one side and 3 on the other...which has happened before when we used to use the 24 hour check in online.

I've Always Gotten Seats Together With No Problem Checking In 24 Hrs Ahead, With Last Trips Being 12/06, 3/07, And 6/07. But Now Comes The New Twist Of Being Able To Pay To Schedule Seats. You Can Click And Look How Many Seats Are Showing Up Taken. I'm Not Going Back Til 12/07,and Half Of The Seats Are Already Taken, So, I Went Ahead And Paid The $20.

I think there was a much better chance of sitting together before Airtran starting offering the $5 seat selection. Think about it - if most people pay the extra five bucks for their seat assignment, it's going to leave less seats together for the people who don't pay it.

We are flying Airtran for the second time in August. My son's girlfriend has never flown before. I decided to pay the extra $, because I don't want to take the chance that she might be sitting alone.

I'm using Airtran this week with my 3 kids (DH going a week later). I didn't want to chance us being separated, so I paid the $5 per person. It only charged me for the first flight, not the connecting flight. So...for 4 people it totaled $20. For you it will be $10---the connecting flight you pick your seats with no additional charge.

Hope that makes sense!
