have you heard of this?

www.controlheavyperiods.com

Sounds like a surgery they perform to curb the harshness of periods.

I saw an ad in "first for women" and would really like to know if anyone else has talked to their doctors about this?

Sorry I knwo this is TMI but its hard finding this many women in one place lol.

What do they do Binny? A friend of mine had something done recently.... some kind of ablasion of the endometrial lining... I think they used hot hot HOT water.

sounds very similar to what this is.

How did she fare?

Im really considering this.

She said it was GREAT for a year.... starting to pick back up now, but she said it was VERY worth it!! I'm thinking about asking too- tired of being "out of commission" for a week or so every month.

Me too. But I just started the pills to counteract it. Especially if I'm going to work, I can't call in 3 days a month and tell them sorry not today.

Funny you posted this today. I was at the site yesterday looking around. I told DH I'm seriously considering it because I hate taking the pill...especially since he has permentanly taken care of the BC issue. I'm just changing doctors though so I need to find one that is familiar with the procedure.

OK, I had this done. They caqlled it a uteran ablasion. They do exactly what it says, basically they heat the saline inthe balloon and singe the uteran wall. I had nothing for a year, and now it is still to a minimal. I will say that when I woke up I was in severe pain, but I was up and back to normal in 24 hours, like nothing had ever happened.

It does not take the place of birth control...especially because it is not fool proof.

My GYN does it, it's listed on the O.R. schedule as "Thermal Balloon Therapy."

I don't no anyone who has had it done though.

I have had this procedure done. If you have any questions pm me.

I have a client who had this done.
I just went off the pill and will see what happens in this department. DH has been "fixed" but I have stayed on the pills solely to have lighter periods. I would consider having this procedure done if necessary. Glo scared me a bit though!

I'm glad you posted this Binny.... I have my yearly in October and I'm gonna ask about this!

You didn't scare me Glo;) I can take the pain.... if it will give me some relief for a year or so!!! I'm chronically anemic.... tired of never daring to go anywhere for about 3 days a month.... and frankly the cost of product is killing our budget!!

I used to get really bad periods until I started having depo provera injection every 3 months! It stops the bleeding, so no pain!!
