Another ADR story, which will hopefully help.

I know there have been a lot of stories floating around about ADRs, so I thought I'd add one more to them. Hopefully this should clarfiy a few of the questions people have bee asking as well.

Well... after just getting off the phone from booking my ADRs, here is what I've noticed. Firstly, rang dead on 12pm to hopefully get in early, unfortunately I was greeted with "the estimated time of your wait will exceed thirty minutes", and they were not lieing. After 1hr 35mins, the phone was finally answered, after me starting to wonder if they ever were. The message played as you go through the ADR menu states that Disney Resort guests whose arrival date is 90days out or less can book reservations for their entire stay, this is not exactly the case, as the 90day+10 still applies. Indeed I did ask the question to the CM on the phone after I thought I may get to book for the whole 14 day trip .

Well, after my wait I began to be hesitant as to whether my first choice restaurants and times would still be available. To alay people's fears, they were on the whole pretty reasonable. I managed to get Le Cellier at the exact time I wanted, as too Chef Mickey's, whilst Ohana was a a little later, but still the same date. The other restaurants I all booked without problems were Crystal Palace, Whispering Canyon, Yak & Yeti, Wolfgang Puck and Hoop-de-doo. The one restaurant I had to adjust timing drastically on was Mama Melrose's from 7:30pm to 4pm, which is a little surprising, as I though if that was going to happen it would more likely be Le Cellier/Chef Mickey's etc. The other problem I had was that, after getting off the phone I noticed that the CM had given me the same res. no. for two restaurants. I then had to call back (a shorter wait of about 10 mins this time) to get Teppan Edo re-booked, which I managed to get at exact day and time.

As a side note, the CM I called initially could not bring up my reservation from the Disney UK No. but was quite proficient in obtaining my reservation through check-in date, resort and full name. He then gave me my US No. to quote in future correspondence, which no doubt will be helpful.

I then decided I'd try to retrieve my ADRs from the online system. This went pretty smoothly for the initial ones I had made, you just put in your confirmation number and phone number you gave to the CM minus the 0 at the start if it's a UK landline. I'm still struglling to retrieve my Teppan Edo booking I had to make separately though using the same method. Not quite sure why it's not coming up?

So, all-in-all, not as bad as I had expected, although having to wait over an hour and a half on hold does seem ridiculous for any company, let alone Disney. With my most difficult reservations out of the way, I can relax a little and book the remainder in the coming days. Hopefully the relative ease of reservation should help ease people's nerves who have yet to reach the 90day mark, but I think there's always a worry until you've bagged all your ressies and have it confirmed in front of you. I know seeing them come up on the Disney website gave me a little more comfort in knowing everything was in-place (minus Teppan Edo:sad2:).
