We are arriving the night before our 4 day cruise and will be staying at the Embassy Suites at the airport (using their transfers to and from airport.) We are early risers as we have a 2 year old. So, we plan to eat breakfast and then take the shuttle back to the airport. Can someone please advise the best time for us to be there to pick up the DCL buses? I know they do not depart until 10ish, but we are willing to get there early if need be. Thanks.

The bus check-in generally begins at around 9:30am. On our last trip, we got there at about 9:40, and were assigned to the second bus, which departed at 10:15 or so. We were checked in and waiting in line by 11:30, with probably only 10-15 groups in front of us.

If you want to be on the first bus out (leaves around 10:00), I would try to get to the airport check-in area by 9:15 (assuming that 9:30 is when they begin checking people in). Your cruise docs should tell you exactly when and where to sign in for the buses. I'd get there a bit earlier than the stated time.

Oh, and another thought: When you arrive at the airport the evening before the cruise, it might be worth taking the time to find the area where they will check you in for the bus before heading to your hotel. That way you'll know where you're going the next morning.

For us, it was in the lobby of the Hyatt, but we were staying in the hotel as part of the air package. I don't know if there is a different check-in point if you've booked your own air and purchased the transfers separately. Again, the docs should tell you.

We'll be coming down the day before and staying at the Hyatt, using the disney transfers. My question is, what is there to do there for that evening? The kids are 5 and 7, a hotel pool will be fine for a few hours. Is there anything else to do? What about eating options? of course, DH is a pilot, I'm sure he'll be plenty entertained...

BuzznBelle, there isn't a whole lot to do. Enjoy the pool. Have a nice dinner. Your DH can enjoy being around the airplanes in one of the nicest U.S. airports. Just relax and go to bed early. You'll need the rest because you'll be having so much fun the rest of the cruise.

There are plenty of shops to keep you busy if you are in to shopping. There is a store for Disney, Universal, Sea World plus a ton of other shops that sell everything from books to baboons.

There is also a Chili's Rest near the Hyatt in the terminal and a bunch of fast food options as well.

As Dave stated it is one of the nicest airports in the country. The hotel pool is nice, it is outdoors on one of the upper floors.

Have a fantastic stay and cruise.

MJ

thanks so much for the input--a Happy Meal and a dip in the pool should do it for the kids, Dh will be content to watch the air traffic. I'll settle for a good night's sleep...
