Another 5-10 days

Well I knew it was too good to be true. Dh is completely out processed and finished work on Monday. He e-mailed about 5pm last night with bad news. They still don't have a plane and were told it would be at least another 5-10 days. That is what they said over 10 days ago.

I know I am truely lucky that he is coming home now, but I feel my feet were pulled out from under me. This waiting really sucks. I feel really bad evening being sad when others are not even close to be home. I guess it's just human nature.

Dh called last night. It was a pre-planned call, and he used a calling card. He talked for about 5 minutes and that was it. He was very depressed and wasn't responsive to the kids either. My 11 year old got off the phone and said he sounded "bad".

I am hoping that he gets some news that cheers him up tonight. I feel bad for him. I can imagine it is really tough not getting to see the kids. I just wish that there was something I could do. I hope he is doing better tonight when he calls.

Thanks for letting me have this space as a sounding board. It's really tough not having anyone to talk to about this.

I've been there and can truly relate and sympathize! Just focus on that he is READY and waiting to come home! It could happen anytime. I don't think we knew until the day before that it was finally a real "go"! Vent all you want.

{{{HUGS}}} Melanie. You have been without the man you love for several months now, having to wait a few more days is disappointing but they will pass quickly. Honest, they will.

You are so lucky that your husband will soon be home with you.
