Another “Help us decide” post...Uber specific

And when putting even a down payment on a credit card for resale, you don't get Disney Chase 0% for 6 months. The purchase is not considered a purchase with Disney.

Thanks! That is helpful! I heard that Sapphire gives 3x points- so wanted to maximize travel rewards with such a purchase! Thanks!!

We absolutely loved Aulani, but don’t see us coming back here more than 2x in 10-15 years.

As others have said don’t buy aulani with that as a plan.

We plan on going about once every year or two and maybe a short two night stay for just me and dh once a year.

Having read all the posts....you have those plans with 150 points at hopefully bay lake because you spend most of your time at MK, in a 2 bedroom???? Are you sure your points will go that far?

Otherwise, we’d pay with Chase Sapphire to get triple travel points.

You said it would take 3 months to pay it off. Will the UR you’ll earn actually make up for the interest you will pay? Since it would only take you 3 months, I’d rather save that money over the next two or three months as though you were paying the credit card, so you don’t spend anything on interest.

Also, whatever resale broker you use, are you sure they’ll code as travel? I think real estate might not code the way you want it. And then you’re stuck earning just normal rewards and maybe paying interest.

if we bought direct, we could use Disney Chase to pay with 6 months no interest. We actually have 3 months no interest on another card (trying to figure out if/which brokers allow cc payment). I’m thinking it’s better to just buy resale- we are happy using existing resorts and we only plan to go once every 2 years with all of us and always go the cheapest weeks- we will likely rent Sun- Thursday and borrow/bank some years. We actually have enough to pay now- but it would deplete our savings- we like to keep that at a certain amount...hence, why I’m thinking of watching a few contracts- there are two now that both would be the use year we want and the points. So, husband is thinking we should just bite the bullet and make an offer and decide later if we really need direct. Another person purchased with their Sapphire card through broker and it gave 3x points..the way it was run. That would be sweet!! 😁
I’m not sure how to go about setting bid and trying to figure all that out.

I think you're making a good call. Spending more on direct just so you can get rewards points or six-month financing is not a great long-term strategy. As for the resale process, simply find a contract you like, contact the broker, and offer $5-10 less than asking and you're off to the races. Good luck!

Can I pay with my Disney Chase? Does their 0% for 6 months apply if we buy from resale broker? Otherwise, we’d pay with Chase Sapphire to get triple travel points.
Unless you buy from Disney, you don't get six months interest free.
