Hey DIS’ers,

Planning a trip for late May or more likely early June 2021. Traveling party will most likely be myself, DH (Disney grump), DDthen19, and DSthen17. (Plot twist, we COULD possibly bring the dog, which would pretty much lock us in to AoA. Or grump DH could insist on staying home with dog, which would lock us in to a studio at BW/BC. But for now let’s assume party of 4!!)

We’ve rented points before at AKV, so we know the drill. Stayed twice at AoA, so we know and love that room setup and overall resort. Stayed once at BC and enjoyed it.

Main goals will be DHS twice (haven’t been since TSL opened; main goal is SW!!) and the new goodies at Epcot (particularly Guardians. Will certainly hit all 4 parks and prob at least one waterpark.

My main trade offs are ability to walk to my two most important rope drops versus and extra bathroom and sleeping surface for said DD19. Skyliner looks great but not likely to support rope drops...? What other tidbits of information about these two options might I be missing that should weigh in? TIA!!

I'm going to guess if your husband isn't a great big ole fan of WDW, then he really won't be a big fan of putting four "adults" in a studio either at the BCV or BWV. That will be really crowded. Even three adults is going to be crowded. I'd get at least a one bedroom villa at BWV or BCV. But those will only have one king bed and one queen sleeper sofa. You'd have one kid sleeping on the floor on an airbed that you provide yourself (plus the sheets).

If you do have to bring the dog, you might check out Best Friends. We've boarded our dog there twice in about the last six months and she did pretty good.

Given the make-up of your family and your park preferences, I would consider a RIV studio over BCV or BWV. You will get the queen bed, and two pull-down beds which are vastly more comfortable than the pull-out sofas. You will also have Skyliner access.

Gosh, I messed that all up LOL

If all of us go, we’ll get the one BR like we did at Aulani. Studio was just if he doesn’t go. Sorry for you guys taking time to answer a poorly worded question!!

I vote two rooms at POP for the best of both worlds. More space, two full bathrooms, and skyliner access.

We did one stay at a value (just the kids and I), and that’s just not going to be my choice for a long stay. I just didn’t find it relaxing and missed the theming more than I thought. AOA will give me skyliner access, which I do look forward to trying!

If you are planning on doing multiple HS days and possibly rope dropping them, then staying in a 1 bedroom at one of the Epcot resorts seems like the best choice! Plus The resort has lots to do in the Boardwalk area if your husband decides to not go to the parks with you.

You do realize AoA is a value resort, right? Now, do be fair, I found it to have a much different feel than Pop (in a way that I preferred), but it is still value.

I’ve stayed AoA twice and loved it; DH (aforementioned Disney grump) even said “this is the coolest place we’ve ever stayed.” But I agree it has a much different feel than an All-Star (although granted I’ve never tried Pop—it was booked when we tried—but I don’t think it’s THAT different.) Plus at $500 a night in June, it’s hard to call that a “value.” I think loosely translated that just means “giant pool and a food court” LOL
