Yay! The start of a new year is almost upon us! I hope you all have had fun in 2014 with the books you've chosen - I know I have because of the reviews & recommendations you all have shared!

Cannot wait to see what books I discover in 2015!!

Thanks to all of you that participated in 2014 whether you met your stated goal or not! As long as we always have a book in our hands, we are all winners!!

Here's how it works:

Everyone that wants to participate should state the number of books they want to read in 2015, and I will keep record of everyone's goals in the first post of this thread. I am not perfect, so if I happen to miss you, please do not hesitate to give me a kick in the pants!

Along with your goal, please state the book or books you are MOST excited about reading in 2015!

As you finish each book (or multiple books), kindly add a new post with a brief summary and/or opinion of the book and what you plan on reading next (if you know).

I welcome any comments/suggestions as to how to make 2015 even better!

HAPPY READING, ALL! :grouphug:

Wahoo! Here I am.:woohoo:

After a poor showing in 2014, I would like to repeat this past goal of 30.

I am the most excited to read the next book in Mira Grant's Parasitology series and also to continue on with the Agent Pendergast series by Douglas Preston and Lee Child.

I will start off...

I'm going to stick with my goal of 30 books even though I read 41 in 2014. I have some really big books on my list (Outlander series at 900+ a book!) so want to keep the number low because of that.

What I am most looking forward to...

Diana Gabaldon's newest book - Written in My Heart's Own Blood (Outlander #8) - but before I can get to that one, I need to read books 3-7!

Haha, you beat me to it!!

I'm in for 24 books. I'm in my final semester of school January - May so I won't have much time then but I can make up for it in the second half of the year.

What I'm most excited about reading? The Outlander Series. I am almost done with book 1. It will actually be my final book in 2014 as I hope to have it finished before 1/1/15. So that makes my first book for 2015 Outlander #2. I am also looking foward to reading All the Light We Cannot See. I am number a bazillion on my library waiting list so it might be a 2016 book. :confused3:laughing:

I'm going to try 30 this year. I thought I read a lot but 2014 showed me wrong. I have my favorite authors so I'm looking forward to reading there new books.

I'm in again......shooting for 24 books. I didn't make my goal in 2014 but it did keep me reading. Hopefully, I'll have more time to read in 2015.

First time to join the reading challenge.

And I will start with 40 books.

I am an avid reader. But I mostly read mysteries.

So on my reading list will consist of

Jonathan Kellerman
Faye Kellerman
Lee Child
David Baldacci
and others like them.

I'm in for 60 books. That was my pledge # for 2014, and I finished #60 today, so it seems like a good number. Just started a new book today, that I'm sure I won't finish until 2015. Does anyone know whether that will be #61 for 2014, or the first book of 2015? It doesn't matter-I'm just curious on how that works. I can't remember how Goodreads counts it.

Hello all! After finishing 58 books this year, I am going to put my 2015 goal at 75. I hope I can do it! This thread has helped me remember to do what I love - read!

I also love to see what everyone is reading and what they liked and didn't like.

I think right now, I am looking forward to finishing the Kingdom Keepers series and book 2 of The Magic Thief series.

Happy 2015 and happy reading!:cheer2:

Peggy

Put me down for 45 since I did 42 in 2014. I'm currently in the middle of the Princess Diaries series so looking forward to finishing that (I kind of love Mia Thermopolis). Also looking for to the Infinite Sea and all the Colleen Hoover books I just added to goodreads because Hopeless and Finding Hope were amazing.

I am going to set my goal at one book per week, so 52. Some books on my list:

All the Light We Cannot See
Orphan Train
We are not Ourselves
This is Where I Leave You
Landline
Everything I Never Told You

I am looking forward to this challenge! Thank you for organizing.

I will also join this year. I followed along last year, but did not post. My goal this year will be 30 books.

I look forward to read Inferno (Dan Brown)
Orphan Train
Landline

I'm in for 52 again. I breezed by that mark for 2014 but fell well short of my second goal of 100, and I've got a lot more on my plate for 2015.

I'm most looking forward to the rest of the Outlander series. So far I've only read the first and am on the waiting list for book two from the library, so I have lots of reading material in that series on tap for 2015.

Hi all! I'm excited to do this again. I'll keep my goal of 40 books, even though I didn't make it this year. What's the adage about one's reach exceeding one's grasp? On my list - I Must Say - Martin Short's biography; The Melody Lingers On, Mary Higgins Clark; My Brilliant Friend, Elena Ferrante; Revival, Stephen King. - haven't read him in awhile, but it's time; A Spool of Blue Thread, Anne Tyler

Threeboysmom - thanks for doing this! It can't be easy!

I am here! Count me in for 30 books! I was going to do only 25 but this is a challenge after all.

I know I only bumped it up by 5 more books. :rotfl2:

I'm not sure what novel I'm really going to be looking at this year. I'm not really anticipating anything in particular, but I already have a list of books lined up that I'm going to read. (Free Kindle books are the bomb diggity).

I know everyone's talking about Outlander again, which I never finished the first book when I first started reading it about 2 years ago. Perhaps I will pick it back up again.

Count me in for 2015! I didn't participate last year because the year prior I was just having trouble actually keeping track but I'm going to try to do better this time!!

I checked my Amazon account for 2014 and it looks like I read 53 books via Kindle last year. Amazingly, the majority of them were over 400 pages. Don't even get me started on that last Gabaldon book---my goodness what a slog!!

Anyway, I'll shoot for 50 for 2015.

Updated up to here!

Welcome to all my "old faithfuls" and to some new members too! :grouphug:

I am also looking foward to reading All the Light We Cannot See. I am number a bazillion on my library waiting list so it might be a 2016 book. :confused3:laughing:

Hmmm... I'll have to look this one up! Not that I need any more books added to my list...

Does anyone know whether that will be #61 for 2014, or the first book of 2015? It doesn't matter-I'm just curious on how that works. I can't remember how Goodreads counts it.

I say if you finish it in 2015, then it counts towards your 2015 goal. I *think* Goodreads also goes by the finish date as well.

I know everyone's talking about Outlander again, which I never finished the first book when I first started reading it about 2 years ago. Perhaps I will pick it back up again.

Oh, you MUST!

Don't even get me started on that last Gabaldon book---my goodness what a slog!!

OK, what's a slog? Is that a good thing or bad? :confused3 lol

Perhaps a pimped out sloth? Or hybrid experiment between a slug and sloth? I knew the scientists at Jurassic World were up to something. It was always more than just dinosaurs people.

Speaking of which I need to add that to my book list.
