I'm an Annual Passholder for WDW seeking help from my West Coast DL Passholder cohorts :cutie:

I am planning a 2 night/3 night stay in mid May at either the Grand Californian or Disneyland Hotel and seriously contemplating purchasing the Annual Deluxe. I have looked on MouseSavers and could not find any specific information.

Would anyone be able to let me know what kind of resort discounts are available to Annual Passholders this May? Since the Deluxe is only 80$ more than a 3 Day Hopper, I assume even the smallest % discount could be worth it...

Standard discount is 10% off rack rate. You can often find cheaper rates looking on line. Sometimes they offer better discounts, but they are usualy during the off time- Jan and Feb, sometimes Sept or Oct.

I wouldnt buy the pass to get a hotel discount. I would buy it for the discount on admission or meals, but not hotel.

Buying the deluxe AP will get you 10% off food and shopping at DL, DCA and select spots at DTD....

I agree! It's not like WDW, there is no way to ever pretty much count on a discount for a certain time of year at DL!! I wish there was. With an AP, I just find it easier to find the discount and then try to take advantage of it by booking a trip!

I have though gotten DLH and PP for $89 a night before although more commonly now it is $119 or $129. I have also gotten GC for $189 a night which is pretty good. Just so you have some reference!

Unless it's changed, you can book an AP rate without yet having an AP in your physical possession. So if a good AP rate does come along for your dates, and you can manage to snag a ressie, then you could just order an AP before you go. And if good rates don't come along, then just go with your 3-day PH.

Just a caution...be aware that the Deluxe passport has blackout days - all Saturdays in May as well as Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. So if your stay encompasses any of those days you'd have to purchase a blockout day ticket at the main entrance ticket booths for $30 to enter the park on those days.

The deluxe actually offers very few shopping discounts. Food yes, shopping no. There are a few places in dtd, but not really anything other then food in the parks.

Opps, sorry.... I took that straight from the AP site. :flower3: I looked at the list and saw the 10% straight down the deluxe column...

We've had APs at both. And they are very different. We have failed to get AP rates at DL. I'm sure it's timing. But I think it is limited as to when and how many. We have DL Premium APs and a plus over WDW is a discount at pretty much all shops.

Wow, thanks so much everyone! Looks like the resort discounts offered at DL are nowhere near as substantial as at WDW.

I am going mad trying to plan around Memorial Day weekend, the various refurbs and a few special fares on Air Canada. Now it looks like our flight would be getting into LAX the evening of the Pirates premiere....:scared1:

I did see something quite strange on the Disneyland calendar: on May 20th, the Electrical Parade is scheduled for 8:45, while the park is slated to close at 6. This is an error on the DL website, correct?
