Hi everyone, I have a question, and not sure if anyone might know the answer.
I am an AP, and I linked my pass to the MDE site in January, just in anticipation of of hopefully getting a Magic Band someday.
I'm going to the WDW Dolphin hotel next week (a hotel that is unfortunately not participating in the Magic Bands from what I understand). Booked this trip long, long ago. For my March trip, I did make restaurant reservations using the MDE site, but wasn't offered any FP+ or Magic Bands due to staying at the Dolphin. The manager at the Dolphin stated on the phone that they most likely will never have Magic Bands for guests of the Dolphin, no idea why.
Then, about a week ago, I booked at stay at the Grand Floridian for a different trip in May. I was then prompted to order Magic Bands for this Grand Floridian stay in May. My family excitedly picked out Magic Band colors, and it said to do this before April 5th. Done!
Not more than a few hours after doing this, I got another email saying I was "selected" to test FP+ in March. That is, without staying at an official resort, only staying at the Dolphin. It said something about being selected just because of having dining reservations for March.
Here's the deal...the Magic Bands we ordered are not being sent out until April. But, the MDE site let me book FP+ for every day of my March trip! So happy about that, but is this a fluke? I don't have Magic Bands, and won't have them because I'm leaving this very week. Will my AP just have all of these FP+ on it without the Magic Bands? I'm so confused!
Anyone else have this happen? Book a hotel for a later trip, then get offered FP+ for a visit soon, but with no Magic Band?
