Annual Passholders - get ready for Magic Bands

I am irritated that I can't get a MB yet. So stupid. I'm just impatient. I've tried different browsers, clicked on different areas of the website and nothing. When I click on FP+ I can see dates to choose and then I get an "We're Sorry. In order to select FastPass+ experiences, party members must have a valid ticket and be within at least one party member's FastPass+ selection window." message. All of our APs are linked.

I'm still getting that message even with ordering the bands. I'm not sure when we'll actually be able to book them.

I'm getting that message too. I'm assuming I'll be able to book after I get my bands.

Thunderbug, I understand your frustration and impatience. I was exactly the same way. Logging in and out dozens of times a day!

It did not work in the app, but only through the website.

I've been getting that message too. I picked just one member of my party and then it let me choose my FP+ (we have MB already). Then I copied it.

My problem is: I added my mom to pick her MB settings and I accidentally added it as a ticket instead of a pass and now I can't pick her MB. I added her husband after and picked AP like it is and that let me customize his. So I know it is because I added it as a ticket... UGH! It shows as an AP ~ but I picked the wrong button when adding it. Now I can't delete it or fix it.
 
I just happened to read this thread and had been checking using the MDX app for iPad. There was no options to order a band. I used my PC laptop, Google Chrome browser, cleared all history, passwords, forms etc. and clicked around. I finally got the option to order our bands. Florida resident AP holders, no resort stay. The message said they would ship mid-March. :worship:
 

So here's a question, then... We DO have a resort stay and were able to customize MBs in January. I am an AP voucher holder, no one else in our group has linked tickets yet. Will my MB ship mid-March, or will they wait and send them as a group later/closer to our trip?
 
I'm very confused about this whole process. we haven't been there since last may, and are going april 22nd i just ordered our magic bands we let our annual pass expire and i just ordered them also and they let me make all my fast passes already and they are linked to my bands i didnt get a chance to put characters on them but i got fast passes so i am confused about this process
 
Mickie16, my understanding (correct me if I'm wrong) is that all resort guests are automatically given Magicbands and the ability to choose your attractions for FP's.

Those of us without a resort stay or an invitation to take part, are having to wait until they are selected on My Disney Experience.

Do I have that right? :confused3
 
I'm a bit perplexed. I saw the announcement, looked on MDE, and saw that myself, husband, and 2 boys can customize out MB for our PAPs that expire on 5/31 this year.

I have a 1 night stay at BLT on 5/23. I have customized the bands for that stay. My family will be checking in at SSR for a week stay with friends in a THV beginning on 5/24. They just returned yesterday from their Mardi Gras stay, so we will customize those MBs sometime before 3/25 (our 60 day FP+ is on 3/25).

Should I go ahead and customize the AP bands as well? Which ones do I use? Would I still get the resort stay bands as well?

Would all three be active with my AP...meaning they are all interchangeable during my stay?

If I use the AP bands, would I be able to also use it for room, key, DDP, and charging privileges for both resort reservations?

I have a feeling I am over thinking this and just making myself more confused than I should. Part of my problem is that I have not been since last June ...before the test actually began.

Please help!

They are all interchangeable.
 
So if I customize my AP MB then do I get separate bands when I book a room or do they link?

For now whenever a room reservation is made you get a set of MBs. And ap holders are slowly being given the option to get MBs, which has nothing to do with a reservation.

You will likely get both unless they figure out how to put a "I have a MB please don't send another" button on the site in the meantime.

They will be linked to your MDE. So they will all work (barring glitches).


I had already linked my AP to MDE and had customized my band. It now shows an MB ready to ship. Is that the one I customized or a new one?

Do you also have a trip reserved? When you customized the band, was it the ap band or a reservation one? If it was the ap one them I assume it is that one.
 
So our bands are customized and waiting to ship. I called WDW and they said that we'd be able to make advanced FP+ ressies as soon as we have the bands? How does that work exactly? Is there a new code to put in somewhere that's different from my AP numbers? Or will the computer system somehow update when they ship the bands?

I past my Bands showed shipped and gave tracking number so system may actually know when they ship.
 
We are AP holders. I just checked my MDE account and I have a new of of MB's waiting to customize. I just have to verify the shipping address. But I don't want another set and I don't want to click on that link. :scared:

I already have three sets of MB's, from our Dec trip, our Jan trip, and our upcoming March trip. I have a fourth set already customized for our Oct trip. I really don't need another set. :upsidedow
 
Yay!!! :cool1: I just got home and I had the option to customize our MB. Hopefully I didn't just miss that yesterday bc there was never any "popup" for me like I had read. I just happened to spot it on my "Welcome, ___" page. So now that I've had them shipped, how long will it take before we can make advance FP+? Do we have to have them in hand? It's still locked on MDE. Wishing it was this week as we're on Spring Break and will go over there at least once or twice.

And I think the AP-MB-ordering and the AP-FP+-making are both brand new*, barely unveiled, perhaps not totally finished, and therefore no one quite knows the answers to the combo questions.



*not that it's brand new that AP holders could make FP+s, but that was only AFTER the AP holder had had an onsite stay with a MB. That protocol is known, but this stuff is new. And I don't think it's fully rolled out yet.

I'm going to the WDW Dolphin hotel next week (a hotel that is unfortunately not participating in the Magic Bands from what I understand). Booked this trip long, long ago. For my March trip, I did make restaurant reservations using the MDE site, but wasn't offered any FP+ or Magic Bands due to staying at the Dolphin. The manager at the Dolphin stated on the phone that they most likely will never have Magic Bands for guests of the Dolphin, no idea why.

Then, about a week ago, I booked at stay at the Grand Floridian for a different trip in May. I was then prompted to order Magic Bands for this Grand Floridian stay in May. My family excitedly picked out Magic Band colors, and it said to do this before April 5th. Done!


Not more than a few hours after doing this, I got another email saying I was "selected" to test FP+ in March. That is, without staying at an official resort, only staying at the Dolphin. It said something about being selected just because of having dining reservations for March.

Here's the deal...the Magic Bands we ordered are not being sent out until April. But, the MDE site let me book FP+ for every day of my March trip! So happy about that, but is this a fluke? I don't have Magic Bands, and won't have them because I'm leaving this very week. Will my AP just have all of these FP+ on it without the Magic Bands? I'm so confused!

Anyone else have this happen? Book a hotel for a later trip, then get offered FP+ for a visit soon, but with no Magic Band?

Yes, off site guests have recently been reporting that they are receiving these emails. And they don't have MB's, just regular tickets.

If you were able to select fp+'s for your upcoming trip, and they appear in your MDE account, then they should be on your AP. You just use the AP at the touch style instead of a MB. L)
 
We already have 2 sets from previous trips. Does anyone know if by adding the shipping address these new bands will come with something that shows we are AP holders, so we don't have to bring our pass and band for discounts.

I remember reading they come with a little tagging showing your an AP holder is this true?
 
Yes, it was letting me book for FP+ as soon as today (or earlier today) and up to 60 days in advance. It was letting me book for my brother too since he's part of my Friends & Family list even though he wasn't given the option to customize his AP MB yet but he does have one from a previous trip. Not exactly sure what the limits are but I booked for one day, which I'm about to cancel.

It let me order MagicBands today, but still denied access to FP+.
