Annual Passholder Previews REGISTRATION LINK IN FIRST POST-EVENT FULLY BOOKED

I too would really like to at least know the actual preview dates. I was able to book a DVC Villa room for the week leading up to opening & managed to snag a $49 red-eye flight down. Haven't booked a return flight yet waiting to see what happens with the dates. I was able to get a spot through DVC for the Pandora previews but was not actually able to attend since I was boarding the Trans-Atlantic cruise that day & couldn't risk missing the bus to the port. I'm really hoping DVC gets a window for these previews too but I do have a Platinum AP that expires at the beginning of October.

Disney should just announce when they are doing this .. or just make it a lottery. Every Passholder gets a timeslot to sign up for the event. If you are #1 on the list .. so be it, if you are last, oh well. Probably better than stalking the internet 24x7 waiting for this thing to mysteriously become active.

I mean this is essentially like the DL "previews" they've had the past month (that were limited to resort guests only instead of passholders). Those people knew when the reservations were opening up.

Again .. I just wonder what this availability will be. How many days will the preview be? How many passholders per day will they allow? How many TOTAL Platinum and up passholders exist ... (thus ..what percentage of total passholders COULD go to this event?)
No, no lottery!
I would never win that lottery but I know if I put in the time, research and F5 clicking skills I have a shot at this and future events.
Same here
They (National Parks) ruined the Synchronous Fireflies when they went from first come first served to a lottery a couple of years ago.
We always got a pass when it was first come but now that you sign up for a lottery and hope they draw your name, we never get a pass.

Or get people to get a room reservation stat for August? My trip is during the rumored date of this preview beginning & its been way to easy to change up dining reservations & FP. So, I think bookings are soft for that week.
But if THAT was the case, wouldn't they release the dates to spur that on? I'm not going to book a resort room until I know when my preview reservation would be for (if I get one).

I feel this is just another crowd control method. This is in place of the "soft" opening Disneyland had for resort guests. They can't do that at WDW and fear a huge mob the opening week or so. This allows them a soft opening for a large, but very limited audience to get the kinks out before the official opening (and before they have to open every morning at 6:00 am)

The 14th is as far as I can stretch it out. Our current trip is 7/28 - 8/3. 2 more days tacked on is doable. Anything more than that and I'm looking at rescheduling the entire trip. I'll do it, but we are set on staying at AKL CL and availability is just not there past the 14th. I'd change resorts, but my grown daughter is a firm no. I doubt there's much chance they'll have anything by the 3rd or even the 5th, just hoping for miracles because changing our dates means losing some really nice FP choices along with begging Disney to change dates on a couple of non refundable events we have planned. Nice problems to have, huh? :)

I'm with the PP's who said they wish they would just announce the dates. I have had an end of August trip booked since last October and, thankfully, didn't have airfare booked when the opening date of SWGE was announced. I can adjust our trip to be from anywhere between August 23 - August 31 and would love to do a preview instead of opening day or any day thereafter. I don't care where we stay, either, so we have a lot of flexibility. I also have a VIP tour booked for Aug. 30, just in case, but would also love to save that money (particularly since they haven't even told us if we can get in that day) and go in on a, potentially quieter preview day. As others have said, if the previews don't fall within my dates, there is no need for me to stalk and, honestly, I've also been stalking the MB upgrades for first-timers that are coming with us in July (I could care less) and I'm having a bit of WDW stalking fatigue right now.

Land excluded VIP tour access initially after opening. I would get World VIP access to SWGE in writing before I spent that kind of money.

not really, only that rumors of the 28th and/or 27th being for media. So max would be the 11th through the 26th

That would be a long time JUST for Plat AP members. Makes me think if and big if that 11th date is correct we are going to see more thrown into those 2 weeks. DVC members, cast members, etc.....

I guess it depends just how long of a soft opening they want (and how full they want it each day). Since WDW isn't doing any sort of reservations (that we know) . .this feels like the replacement. It feels like this is crowd control and not just a "thanks for being a passholder" thing ..

How many guests do the Disneyland hotels hold on a daily basis? Basically DL is doing a very limited opening for 4 weeks .. and it appears that WDW wants to do the same before the flood gates open and EVERYONE (with no reservations planned) shows up on the 29th-31st .. and then a ton of resort guests start showing up every morning at 6:00 am.

By offering it to Passholders as a preview (and maybe eventually DVC members and/or cast members) . .this well help at least spread out the demand.

I'll say this .. if I get a chance at a Passholder preview here in August, I could EASILY see myself skipping SWGE altogether on our trip in October. (OR at least just pop in there and do something that I couldn't do in the preview).

Oh, yes, absolutely! We have 48 hours to cancel and, honestly, I may just give it up and try again on a future trip after the second ride opens and they offer FP+, etc. I've just been, trying, to wait patiently to see how everything shakes out in terms of previews, any upcharge events, etc. I really am about to throw in the towel, though. We will be traveling internationally for about 2 weeks starting next week and I need to put this aside at that point.

If I get into a passholder preview, I might not be so inclined to get up one day at 5am on my vacation from 9/6-9/14 just to see SWGE. My sister is not a huge SW fan (we’ve tried to disown her multiple times for that lol) so I don’t think she would be that let down if she doesn’t see it, but I’d like to experience it with Pandora preview like crowds

I also have a VIP Tour booked for opening day. At first, when they announced no VIP tours in Disneyland I got really nervous that the same would apply here. Then when they announced park opening at 6am and Extra Extra Magic Hours, I thought oh no, there is no way they will offer VIP access. But, then I was thinking, since Extra Extra Magic Hours don't apply for the first day or two, maybe they will offer VIP tour access on those days. All of that to say, I am tired of not being able to plan anything while waiting on all of this to be announced.

I’ll definitely be cutting back on the stalking over the weekend. Doesn’t mean I won’t do it, but my normal hours of 7am to 7pm constant refreshing will not happen haha!

That being said, they increased AP prices this past Monday night/Tuesday morning. I wouldn’t be surprised with Disney immediately dropping it on Monday, straight after the weekend, but I’m leaning more towards a Tuesday post. Allows 1 full work day in, and is a full week from the price hike. But that’s just my wishful thinking!

Wasn't Pandora released on a Friday, late afternoon? Not sure on that and probably has no bearing at all on this one, but I'm just looking for crumbs. lol but I'm not giving up hope for the day just yet. :)
