Honest question, why does Disney have to do something for DVC members?
Good question. In this particular case, they don't.
DVC is lodging, Annual Passes are tickets. They are via the same company but they are not intertwined. Every DVC member makes their own decision on what type of ticket they want. If they purchased a lower tier ticket, they get the benefits of that ticket. Disney has opted to not open previews to those tickets - for whatever reason. DVC isn't being shut out ..... those that opted for a lower tier AP are. All about APs, nothing about DVC.
The same reason they do something for AP holders. Both pay extra for more Disney. It is the least Disney can do for us Uber fans
Money paid to DVC has nothing to do with money paid for tickets. DVC folks have the option to purchase the top tier ticket. If they opted not to spend that money there is no reason to believe they should get the same benefit as those who did pay that money FOR THIS EVENT. DVC gets their own events and perhaps they will get one later.
I (warmly) chuckle at your Uber Fan comment. I know several DVC owners that hate the parks, don't even go in, they just wanted a timeshare there, like the
DDP options and dining around the resorts. Not Disney fans. AND I assure you there are some folks on here, lots of them, that are insane lifelong Disney fans and they have no desire to buy a timeshare.

I opted for something else for my home away from home ........... but I have still been going to Disney since it opened and spent about 6 weeks a year at Disney World for the last decade.
I got previews for four people for Pandora and I was the only annual pass holder. All others were my guests.
Were you DVC? If you got them in purely on your AP than that was a glitch and not sure why it wasn't caught at entry. We had to scan every one of our tickets and they checked on iPads to insure we were all AP holders. Disney was very clear about that up front and it shouldn't have happened .... if you were doing the straight up AP Preview.
I interpreted it as I could make reservations for anyone with an AP linked in my account that I’m sharing all plans with. I hope so anyway. We are a family of 3 (DH, me and DS11) and we all have premier passes. DS11 doesn’t even have a
MDE account. I’m hoping they aren’t going to make families only choose two people to go. When I signed up for the VIP pass holder event, I was able to register all of us.
It's awkwardly worded. Toy Story Land was very clearly worded that it was yourself plus 3. This one is worded "yourself and a guest" ........... I think unless they clarify everyone needing extra should have a plan.
