Thank you!
Yes, I know I'm being a baby about it
I am one of the unlucky few that did not receive the slider with my AP. It's my very first time having an AP and I really want that stupid slider! I know it might seem trivial to some, but being this is my first one (and maybe only because we have 3 trips planned this year) it's disappointing to not have it. I know that I need to "let it go" but it's hard when I see those little orange sliders all over the parks.Yes, I know I'm being a baby about it
To get one I have tried: stopping by guest relations at Disney Springs, MK and Epcot in both February and May, emailing, calling AP guest relations line. Response is always that they are unavailable and they don't know if/when they will get more. When I called they said they noted my account to mail them to me, but I'm not holding my breath. I really wish they would at least ship some to DS Guest Relations so that those of us that take the time to stop by and ask could get them. Clearly they still have them SOMEWHERE since people that are getting APs now are getting the sliders in the box.

I feel the exact same way. First time AP holders, don't know if I'll ever be one again. I just want the stupid slider! It sets the bands apart. I'm very annoyed seeing other people get them in their boxes, but we didn't when we got them in late January/ early February.

FYI - They only come in the MB that you order that was generated based on your AP purchase. It's a totally different box than the bands that go with a resort stay. Wasn't sure if you knew that or not. So it won't ever be in a resort MB boxYes!!I feel the exact same way. First time AP holders, don't know if I'll ever be one again. I just want the stupid slider! I was kind of hoping to see them appear in the magicband boxes we just got for our stay later this month but no dice...![]()
I have yet to get my slider and I got my AP in April. My parents also have AP and no sliders eitherA little OT but I just upgraded to my very first AP last week while at WDW and the CM at DS Guest Services told me I could customize my AP MB in MDE. However, when I log in, the only MBs that show up are the ones that are associated with my next resort reservations (I verified that my AP is showing in MDE). Is there a different place I need to go in MDE for the AP MB?
I'm hoping that when I do get my AP MB that I'll get a slider, too! I was super jealous of the ones I saw when I was there last week!
A somewhat related question: bought my first AP for my wife and I last week. In order to get the AP validated, I first have to go to Guest Relations in WDW? And even then, as a new AP, they will mail me the MB? So I would not have a MB as a first time AP ????????????

Correct.
Until you have gone to WDW and activated your AP, the system doesn't read you as having an AP. So therefore the system doesn't prompt you to create a magic band until after you've activated your pass and your year starts.
You don't need a MB, you can use the plastic ticket you'll receive. But yes your first trip will be without Magic Bands unless you buy one or have an old one from a previous trip
I guess I could get MB via mail now, the cheap ones, just so I have them for our trip...just seems easier than having to pull out my ID and AP every time I need to use it...and one more question - we will have a 2 and 6 year old with us....if they have MB, do the characters know that as our grandchildren are approaching them and they will know their names....ah, won't work for the 2 year old, as she won't need a ticket...but for the 6 year old, are the MB interactive, in that characters will know a child's name when approached???????

No the characters won't know anyone's names. The only time your name comes up is on the CM computer screen when scanning a FP. And this is mainly to differentiate when an issue arises. If someone just scanned their band quickly and there was an issue but someone behind them scanned right after, they can say like "Bill, there's an issue"
