Annual Passholder dedicated entrance during the Holiday Season

To make it legit, the scanners should be set to not accept non-AP tickets. Big sign AP ONLY. You know like Cash Only, FP+ Only ....

The sign I can see, but having the system reject other passes would make the line much longer since the CMs would then have to explain to everyone who didn't read the sign why they couldn't enter there.

I would think having a sign would deter just enough people to create a quicker line. There would still be those who don't read it, but (in theory) more who do and go to a different line

Yes, I understand that. It was a response, and it was the only answer to stop what is happening. Will it happen? no. For a variety of reasons.

I guess the point is ........... why did they even bother with this promotion? Here is a perk APs, oops just kidding.

Just open more scanners so there could be shorter lines rather than tell AP holders they can avoid the slow scanners when it's not at all true.

We would have been happy with more scanners open, and we could pick the line we thought had promise. Why make up something?

Disney seriously needs a department that does nothing else but take the other departments ideas, fact check them, reality check them and then say .... yeah?..... not your best idea. It's becoming a pattern .... sounded like a good idea at the time. And it's getting old.

Saw this picture on twitter, busted out laughing. I mean, what does that sign mean? Just randomly sitting out there. It gives NO clue so obviously everyone and their grandma are going to get in any line. FAIL.

Of course there is the itty bitty sign above the line and honestly in 45 years of going, I never even knew there was a sign above the lines.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out from Christmas to New Years. If it turns out that lines are really short for AP holders, I can see CM's waving others over anyways to try to alleviate lines.

Because that would simply make too much sense.

It's not a perk, it's just them trying to disperse guests to all the open scanners.

Do you know if you can bring guests through this entrance? My wife and I are passholders, but our son (7 years old) is not. Could we bring him with us through this entrance?

We are heartless parents and have APs, but DS10 does not. Furthermore, we went without him in July and are going again without him between xmas and NYE. Bwahahahaha He's not totally deprived though. He went in March and is going again in August and possibly for a Universal only trip in May. However, if the new lines stick around and are actually worthwhile, then we might get him an AP. I wouldn't bring him through with us without his own pass.

I used the line twice yesterday, once at HS and once at MK. There were people trying to use it in front of me and it wouldn't work. If you MB is connected to MDE it knows you have an AP. Just like when you use the EMH hours. My son went in the regular line and got in the same time I did but the times we went there wasn't a huge line any way.

Yep, it was right next to the AP one, my son went through it and we walked through at the same time. It was about 10:00 last night at MK which was open until 2. He did the same at HS at around 5:30 yesterday afternoon.

So you are saying that after their MB scanned blue they were sent out of the line and in to the next line?

DS was there yesterday as well (MK), his experience was the CMs overrode and let the non-AP folks all through the AP scanners.

Yep, they made them go to the next line. I've noticed they are pretty lax about most things like that though. Yep, they made them go to the next line. I've noticed they are pretty lax about most things like that though. Last night during EMH we were getting on Haunted Mansion and they scanned my son's bad but just waved me through. He said it was because we were together but it's entirely possible you could have two people in a party and one not staying on site. I also noticed a number of times some people weren't doing the second scan in some FP lines. I did have to show my AP every time I used the discount and a few of the people, mostly in stores asked for ID.

Anytime we've done EMH they have only scanned/checked 1 of our group. I got the impression the system told the CM our resort AND the number in our room, since they'd say, Port Orleans, 3, after scanning DGD's band. As long as it was 3 (matched the number in the room) they were good with letting all of us in. So in theory I could have stayed back and sent someone else in my place, no idea for sure.

A friend of mine who goes to Disney everyday (it's a challenge thing she's doing) says that the ap entrance has cut her time a lot, she has not have had to wait at all, she's used it at MK and Epcot

It seems like this thread is mostly AP holders grousing that WDW is not delivering on what they expected WDW to deliver. The raw truth is that it's all WDW's game, and they make the rules. If they want to allow friends and family of AP holders to use the dedicated lines, that's their call. IMHO, that makes sense anyway, as it isn't very magical to split up parties that are visiting together.

If I were an AP, I would only care if the AP holder line was longer/slower than the non-AP lines. As long it is as quick or quicker, then I would be fine. The dedicated lines give AP holders an additional option to enter the park, that is unavailable to others. IMHO, that is the perk.

This is a discussion on what was promoted vs what is happening. The pass holder newsletter advertises "a special entrance just for you" - So yes I did "expect" that!

As for separating it really isn't reasonable to expect that parties traveling together won't ever split up. As I stated before our party will use the regular line when we are with non AP holders. As an AP holder I would expect that a dedicated entrance for AP holders would be just that.
