Annual Passholder dedicated entrance during the Holiday Season

This is nice. In theory is might actually help speed up the non-ap guests as well as you can dedicate a couple resources to a group that generally is familiar and quick at getting past security and through the turnstyle. leaving more room for just the non-ap to get the additional help they need at first.

I didn't take away there would be dedicated security. It's reading to me like 1 tapstyle will be for AP only.

Did you read the post I quoted? It was just an additional wish on top of the dedicated tapstyle.

I hate when the scanner doesn't work and they blame you for using the wrong finger. I'm not a rookie, and I have been doing this a while. I know which finger I used! Luckily, the scanners have been improving, and this hasn't happened in a while.

They made my freaking 4 year old add her fingerprint after 1.5 years of just scanning. It's such a pain. The scanners are not made for a 4 year old's finger. And then they ask if my husband or I want to put our fingers on there! How does that even prevent people from double dipping passes for kids?!

It would have been nice to have had this when we were there last week. I know it's just wishful thinking, but I hope they extend it throughout the entire year.

Little cranky? :-) There is a definite edge to your posts.

I know this is a side bar type of thing. But, what I'd really like is if they also include an AP only lane at the parking lot entrances. My luck is that I almost always get stuck in a line / lane where the person driving doesn't know what he or she is supposed to be doing and asking questions and it's a process to get to the parking lot. I feel like there should be something like the Sunpass lanes where AP holders can simply flash a card and keep going. With all the APs out there, I'd imagine this would also take away from the lines in the main lines.

Again, just my thoughts.

I remember them doing this at EPCOT (and maybe the other parks at the time) back in the late 80's and early 90's). Not sure why they stopped it, but it was wonderful to not wait in a line to get in!!! Not new, but good that they brought it back (even for a short time).

Not to be nasty, but I hope only AP holders are allowed in these lines, no family members or "guests". That would defeat the whole purpose of these lines. If you're with people who aren't AP holders & don't want to separate from them, go thru the regular lines together.

Just to add to this ...
If someone is going to try to sneak their non-AP guest through with them, have them go first in case they stop them, and this way you all aren't split on either side of scanners. I once went through with DS, and DD and her friend were behind us. They wouldn't let the friend through because she was short a day on her ticket. I had DD stay with DS while I went back out, got a day added on her ticket at GR and then returned. Maybe 10-15 minutes. They weren't going to let me in. They said my ticket had recently been scanned and I could not enter. I showed them the receipt, told them my story and they over-rode it.

Good tip!

Does the new AP line include dedicated scanners? I thought that it was only the "turnstile".

Respectfully disagree. Minors have to scan & can hold up the line just as any adult can. I saw kids getting in & out of strollers to scan this week. Certainly not a quick process. If you are with any non AP holder, adult, child, family, friend, you can go they the regular lanes. These lanes are intended to speed entrance for AP holders. They are not mandatory entry points. If you want to enter with a non AP holder, just pick a regular lane.

Yes, not sure why kids aren't out of strollers anyway going thru security. Would like to see non-stroller lines along line of no bag type.

I get the lines aren't mandatory. Just my thoughts that those of us who have APs and visit often with various grand children may appreciate the effort to be able to bring them thru. Might even encourage us to bring them more often.

Not holding my breath on either count

Many adults of various occupations with 'worn down' finger pads that make it difficult to read.

In theory yes but what happens when you are in line behind the person without the pass. Do they back up and get out of line. Why not a cash only designated line for those staying offsite? Had wondered why they don't have special AP parking areas accessible after entering the parking lots wherein your transponder could be used to access

I doubt they would put in car lanes as they are due to safety concerns. You know how it would go , a distracted driver notices special lane and swerves 10 lanes to save a few car lengths. They would have to do it much much earlier at higher speeds like the higher speed Sunpass lanes and they don't have the real estate or probably want to invest in the signage until long distance MBs are good with billback for any issues. They are still pretty crappy with ride photos as of my trip a week ago so I am not holding my breath.

DISLIKE! Sorry, if it's for AP and their families/guests, this negates the purpose of an AP only line.

But... wouldn't most families/guests of AP's also mostly have AP's? For example, my mother in law is from Quebec. Everyone in our family, except her, has an annual pass. So what good does it do us, as AP holders, to have to send her into another line? I can move her through a line quicker than if I wasn't with her considering she only speaks French.
