If the annual pass is good for one year, when does the year start, when you buy the ticket or when you first go to a park.

Also need some input. 2 of us are going.

May trip, five day tickets are $242 and parking $70 = 554
most likely will do again in jan for same price of 554 so total would be $1108.

Annual passes are $1,062.88 for a year which includes parking hopping and parking.

Dilemma-was waiting to see if free dining would be offered in jan. If so, would still have to buy tickets and parking would then be included since I would be staying onsite.

What would you do, just buy the ap and stay offsite (which I prefer anyway) or just buy the individual tickets in hopes that free dining is offered (it would only be the quick service since I would be staying at pop, I just like the idea of free food)

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Also is the only place to buy ap's through disney or is there a cheaper place to get them

The AP is good for 1 year from the day of purchase if it is bought at the gate. If you buy a voucher online, it will be good for 1 year from the day the AP was activated at the parks.

If I knew that I would be returning withing a year, without any doubts, then I would pull the trigger and buy the APs. You know what they say about a bird in hand.

But the real saver would be to take the 2-day ticket from a free dining trip, upgrade it to an AP. And then use that AP to return within the year.
