Annual Passes, worth it?

There really aren't that many blackouts, and honestly it only cuts out the busiest (and IMO the most miserable) times to go

The non-resident AP doesn't have blockout dates. I was trying to find something online that said that but I was told this when I upgraded to it.

I have always contemplated getting the AP. I would use it to get discounts on my dining and such. I wish they had a payment plan for not Florida residents, now that would be awesome.

Regular APs do not include the water parks, etc. They only cover the 4 theme parks. PAPs include the water parks, DQ, WWoS and Oak Trail Golf Course admission in addition to the 4 theme parks.

But what I am understanding is that the question is about getting a Premier AP (which is the equivalent of a Premium AP at both DLR and WDW). So, it would include the water parks. However, yours is an important point if someone was considering buying a WDW AP separately for some reason and was considering a lower level AP.

It might be worth it for one person in your party to have the Premier pass. It would only take one person in the party to have the pass to qualify for discounts-dining and shopping and resorts, free parking, Tables in Wonderland
We did 8 nights at WDW, and we saved over $200 with TiW, family of 5 (2 adults, 1 child, 2 toddlers), so even in one trip, it more than paid for itself.

Hmm, you might be right, if the two of us eat enough TS in WDW! And we do do a lot on our trips! I got to thinking though, I might get the regular AP starting with the Dec trip, with the TIW card and use it thru the following year with a visit in May and then again in Dec, finishing the trip on the last day the AP will allow. I remeber hearing something about them discontinuing the TIW card after this next year. Wonder if there is any truth to that? Then that part of my newest plan wouldn't work! Plus, that would really stink!

For many of us the 'overlapping trip' is what makes an AP work. I'll be starting one in November, doing a quick visit in February and then going a week early in October 2016, so my AP will cost less then $200 per visit, for a total of about 20 days at Disney. I intend to visit a park on November 1, thereby giving me until Nov 1 next year. (I have a DVC AP which was bought before the price increase.)
