1) We will be leaving for our trip December 21. Is there still time to get an Annual Pass purchased through MS and receive the voucher in time?

2) How much of a hassle is it to buy the DVC annual pass at Guest Services at a park or at DD? Does it take much time? Is there any/much paperwork?

1. They come pretty fast, you would be fine.
2. Not much hassle. You just show your ID and DVC card and they process it. There's no paperwork, it's all on the computer.

There's really not much of a time advantage by buying the voucher in advance. You still have to go to the window to have it processed.

We get our APs at guest services, usually at IG in Epcot. It has never been a hassle. It took longer for the bag "inspection"( ) required to get into the park.
Just remember to bring your blue membership card(s) and photo ID(s) showing your address. :thumbsup2
We just did this November 1st, so our experience is very recent. :goodvibes

I got mine at downtown disney since I was not going to the parks the first day. I had no problem and it was very fast, just make sure you have your ID and blue cards and you will be fine!:thumbsup2

If you buy the voucher in advance, the only difference is that no money changes hands at Guest Relations--you give them the voucher instead. Used to be the only good reason (IMO) to buy the voucher in advance was to order the DDE card ahead of time. Now that you can buy the DDE at guest relations as well, I don't see any reason to order vouchers.

If you are staying near there or don't mind heading over, I highly recommend Guest Services at DTD. We went in, handed over the member card and our driver's licenses and had our APs in hand within 10 minutes.

We also picked up our MNSSHP tickets there in October. Again, no line, went right up to the counter.

Unless there is a price increase imminent, there is no reason to order ahead now.

If you buy at DTD, the AP is activated immediately just as it is at the parks. I wouldn't waste a day of an APs life by buying it there. Now if you're renewing and are going to be dining or shopping at DTD that day anyway, it could make sense.

I would not order it through MS at this point. I would just walk up to guest services and buy it. It takes all of five minutes and is easy as pie!

Thanks for all the replies and great advice. It is very helpful. I think we will wait till we get to Disney to buy.

We are going in January. Do you expect a price increase between now and then? If no increase is expected, then we will just wait and buy there.

Disney raised ticket prices in August so I wouldn't expect another price increase anytime soon.
