annual passes upgrade question

I purchased full price annual passes in Jun of this year, and when we go in November we will be DVC members and will want to upgrade to the Premium annual passes. What are we going to have to pay. Cant seem to get an answer from Disney. A lot of run around like this question has never arisen.

I finally got hold of a person that gave me a semi-answer, more of a next step than an answer. She said I would have to go to Customer services at the parks and it is at their discretion whether or not to upgrade us. Not really an answer. And it leaves me feeling it all depends on the mood of the person I get that morning. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Please let me know if anyone else has had to go through this, and what you had to do or pay.
Thank You!

Did you activate and use the passes in June?

Oh, it's not that random so I wouldn't worry. They may not want to quote because if there's a price change then someone might still expect the old price. It will be the difference between what you actually paid for your existing pass and the price of the DVC Premium at the time you do the upgrade. The pass will back date to the day you activated your original pass. It will not extend the time of the pass.

I guess that is why they won't quote me, since the difference between all the passes is -$15. which means it won't cost me anything if they did it that way. Not sure if they will upgrade without cost. That's probably why they wouldn't give me an answer.

I should have my welcome kit in a few days and then I'll be able to see if it says anything different on the DVC website.

The rule is they are able to upgrade if it is for more than the original, but cannot refund money. What you are asking to do is change to a pass with a lower cost than what you paid. Go straight to guest relations with that one, and they are the only ones that can make the exception if it is even possible. No ticket window can make that change.

The price with tax of the regular annual pass is 696.51.
The price with tax of the DVC Premium pass is 691.19.

They may just give it to you, but they won't return money.

Good luck, because this one is a wild card.

If they don't do it at one window, try another somewhere different.

I'm not counting on a refund, but the lady on the tickets line said, they could charge me the full $130 for each pass, or give it to me. She said there is no way to answer that.

I doubt they will charge you. I hope they give it to you.

Are you planning on a lot of water parks, mini golfing, or regular golfing? Couple of years ago they gave us the upgraded pass for a low price, I think it was $399, and I had all kinds of plans for it. Got to WDW and the only extra we did on 3 trips was went mini golfing once. The premium pass sounds better than it is for me. Your mileage may vary.

We are really wanted our DD to do the Shark tank at Typhoon Lagoon and the wave pool, we even been practicing the snorkeling. plus I heard this may be the last year for Disney quest, so we want to hit there a few times. Hate to see it go. we may do the miniature golf also, but not sure.

Is Disney Quest still open?

I guess I don't place that much value on the extras because I've got a stash of 'plus' options that don't expire from many previous tickets - like close to 50. I had guest relations turn them into individual hard tickets last year. When I start to spend more winter time in Florida, we'll probably use them up. If not my adult kids can still use them if I don't.

Disney Quest is absolutely closing. That's not a rumor any longer.

I read it a few months ago about DisneyQuest closing, but I'm not sure if it is still in the air as to what they will replace it with. One rumor is an NBA experience. That would be the equivalent of taking "Treasure Island" and making it into "Treasure Planet"....

How about just purchasing a water park annual pass. They are about $105 each. Then keep the regular annual pass and renew it when it comes due.
