Hello!

I was wondering how do the AP work for DVC members? Can you buy the tickets in advance? Are they the same type as regular tickets? When you arrive at your resort, do you trade them in to have them added to your Key to the World? Do you still get a KTTW when you check into a DVC resort? ON our past stays we have bought tickets ahead of time and they weren't linked to the KTTW cards so we just had to bring them with us to the parks to get in. Just wondering how it works for AP?

APs, DVC or not, can not be encoded onto the KTTW.

If you pre-order your APs, you will receive either a voucher card, or a will call certificate. Both must be redeemed at Guest Service outside a park or at DtD, the resorts do not handle APs at all.

And you will still get KTTW cards. They serve as your key, charging purchases, and entry to EMH just as they do in the other resorts.

The APs are made out of TYvek which seems like flimsy cardboard or thick stock but is very sturdy.

Also you can also purchase APs, exchange vouchers or pick up AP will calls at the ticket booths as well as Guest Services.

Thanks for the replies! :goodvibes
ON EMH mornings/nights, do I need to put my KTTW card through the ticket reader at the entrance with my AP? Or is that something that I just show to let them know I am staying on property?

The gate attendant will look at your KTTW card to visually check the resort stay dates. It only goes through the machine if your park tickets (not AP) are encoded onto it.

Your AP will go through of course, and your finger scan to match you up to your AP.

We bought annual passes this year since we will be going in November and February.
I didn't know the hotels don't handle them. I was hoping to exchange our vouchers when we check in at the BWV.
I try to avoid the ticket lines at any of the parks. I have seen them when they were very long.

At DW, you can upgrade unexpired and unused tickets for APs. Can you do the same at WDW? Also, if you have old unexpired tickets, how can you find out how many days they have left on them for use?

As long as the tickets do not expire (no expiration option) you can upgrade to AP's with them.

Guest Services will be able to determine the value left on the tickets.

I was wondering what the price is with the DVC discount for adult AP's. I have a hard time getting on the DVC member site. Thanks!

The International Gateway usually has a short line.

I have read on other posts that they will no longer exchange used MYW tickets more than 14 days from first use, even with no expiration.

There has been no announcement that I am aware of that Disney will no longer honor tickets past 14 days even with "no expiration" option. What would be the point of purchasing the No Expiration which is quite pricey?

These tickets should be fine to use, or to apply the value to an AP at Guest Services.

The tickets are of course fine to use. But I read a post like Debbie did. I'm pretty certain it was GoldenOldie who posted that partially used tickets could no longer be applied toward APs. It makes sense to me since MYW tickets become dirt cheap after the 5th day or so. At any rate, anything GoldenOldie posts about WDW admission media is Gospel IMO. Wish I could remember for certain though.

I wouldn't expect an official announcement about something like that. It was sort of an unexpected bonus that WDW allowed tickets to be applied toward AP price in the past IMO.

There would be official information on such a policy change and I have not been able to locate that as of now. I am still looking into it however.

The tickets that are partially used will have the dollar value deducted per each day of use. So for example a 7 day parkhopper that has only 2 days left may have little value left on it and might be wiser to keep and use as admissions in the future, with the no expiration option.

But, the option is still there at this time to apply it to an AP purchase. I will keep you all posted on any further information.

I have confirmation from WDW that there has been no change in their policy.

You may apply any unusued days from MYW park tickets (no expiration) beyond 14 days and, in fact indefinitely, to the purchase of an AP.

The policy is still the same. Hope this helps those of you who are seeking to do that. Just visit Guest Services at the parks or at Downtown Disney. Enjoy!

I've never seen any official announcement that you can apply unused days toward the purchase of an AP so don't imagine there would be an official announcement if you can't.:confused3

But I just called the passholder # and asked. I was told that you can still use them. But MBELSANTI, I would ask on the Attraction board or PM GoldenOldie before I would count on it. Although I pushed the button for pass info, I reached a reservationist. Hopefully her info is accurate and current.
