Hi. I hope someone can understand my question and give an answer - I think I know what I mean! Here goes.....

We're going to Disney twice next year - Easter & New Year and so are thinking of getting Annual Passes. We usually stay in a villa, but want about 3-4 nights at a Disney Resort at Easter before moving on to the house. I'll probably buy the passes at Xmas this year and I believe they become active on our first park visit (?) Stick with me guys...here's the question! If I book a Disney Resort at the same time (next phone call) will we be able to get the Resort discount price as Annual pass holders - I will have paid for the passes, but not activated them at the time of booking? Phew!

Rich - translations of the question may become available if I can put the question in a better war :)

You only need to have the AP when you check in (or the vouchure), although when we got the AP rate they never asked for our AP (they may have the details on their system?).

There are only a limited number of AP discount rooms. The AP discounts are announced a few months ahead.

I found booking through DreamsUnlimited (DIS travel agent) was very good - they will make your booking and then automatically apply the AP discounts when they are released (or any other discount codes that may come out). You are assigned a personal agent who will also book PSs for you - all at no extra cost. This saved us quite a few transatlantic phone calls.

Short answer - yes ;)

Longer answer - as Tim says, there are limited numbers of AP rooms at discounts, and for limited dates. Dates and rates aren't usually announced more than a couple of months ahead so, if you book the room now, you'll probably (depends on exactly when you're travelling) be quoted the rack rate. (I'm not sure whether you mean you'll be there NY 2004/5 or 2005/6). If discounts become available nearer the time of travel you can try to get it applied to your booking.

Easter and New Year are traditionally the peak times at WDW so you may find there are no AP discounts for your dates as, presumably, Disney aren't going to cut rates if they know they can fill their rooms at full price. It never hurts to try though!

I agree with Tim that using DU is a great way of knowing that someone will be there checking for new rates all the time for you (it worked for me :teeth: )
