Hello,

looking in to buying an annual pass for our next trip as staying off site and thinking with the cost of the ticket, parking and the discounts I could get may be it would work out similar cost.

What I want to know though is we plan to come back and stay on site whilst the annual pass is still valid do you still qualify for free dining (if they bring it back)

The only thing you could do with the AP, is to go for the TIW card (additional $100 charge) This card would give you an extra discount on Table restaurants as well as Counter Service (only at Resorts where there is no TS restaurant, such as Values, and only as a courtesy of the manager)

No free Dining for APs unfortunately, but you could get the AP discounts on accomodation instead, but those discounts are of the same kind as the room only discounts (10 to 35%) available to the general public

You need to do it the other way around, as we did last year.
Last summer we bought 21 day tix with free DDP package then upgraded the tickets to AP's, got an offsite trip in Nov and doing another at Easter so 3 trips incl 1 with free DDP out of 1 years AP.

Thank you just considering our options at the moment. Do you all have to have an AP to get TIW or just one of the group?

Just one AP is needed.

In 2011 we booked the free dining at SSR. We already had Annual Passes but had to buy the tickets to get the free dining. We told Disney that we had been unable to use our tickets as we had annual passes. They extended them to expire at end of 2012 so we go to use them last year. This was fantastic and saved us a fortune. I had thought that I would probably just sell them but this worked out even better.
We got 3 trips out of our AP plus saved loads of purchases when discount was 20%

Yeah unfortunately even though we would like to I don't think we could squeeze in 2 weeks before September
